I am very satisfied with this purchase. I simply plugged in to a usb slot on my computer and I was ready to view pictures stored on discs. It runs very quietly. Thoroughly happy with it.

Tried cheaper alternatives that simply did not work, sometimes freezing up my computer. I have not experienced any problems with this product so far while ripping commercial cd's and burning blank cd's in Windows Media Player. Appears I have found a winner!

It does what it's supposed to do

I work for a business in which we sometimes receive discs that have sensitive information to be uploaded and distributed. Our new company issued Dell laptops do not have a disc drive. We ordered this external drive as a solution to our problems with uploading images/documents from a disc. We do not use this often and only used 3 times and the device stopped working. I am very disappointed with this purchase. I love my Dell laptop. I do not know what the disconnect is with the quality of this specific product but they need to go back to the drawing board on this one. This was also $60 to use 3 times, ridiculous!

This USB drive comes with a CD for Cyberlink Media Suite 12, so I assumed it was necessary. I tried to install the CD but got an error message that some of the drivers were not signed and my computer security system suggested I NOT install the software. I started to investigate but decided to just try to play a CD and it worked just fine. So my advice would be try the drive and see if it works for you. I have a windows computer so I use Windows Media Player, which worked in harmony with the disc drive.The unit is compact and the cord that comes with it is 22" long, the perfect length to allow perfect placement of the unit.I did a lot of research before buying this unit and I'm very happy with my purchase!

I bought this player because it came with its software. Many others have not, and they claimed that it was plug-and-play. They did not work out. After spending a little more with a player with it's own software, I thought I would give it a try. Well, it all worked out on this player that also runs cd. I am very pleased. And also learned buying a blu ray DVD not really needed. With my system I do not even see the diff. I am a very happy camper. Thanks Amazon.

Does exactly what it’s supposed to. Easy to use and works great!

Simply will not be accepted by my Lenovov Desktop, despite the description saying that it is. I expected this to be a plug and play item. The drive will spin up, but the Lenovo cannot read it. I get an error message about something unrecognized. *Should it be the case that I need to install something on my hard drive to make this Dell drive compatible/ readable, I would appreciate knowing what it is. I looked around on the computer as thoroughly as I know how, tried a few things, but found nothing that would recognize/ talk to this device.No chance to experience any other aspect-- other than that after much fiddling it finally would spin up disks that should be readible--clean and were readible in the past. I tried both a music CD and a video DVD that are in good shape.
