LJUS | Youth Booster - Overnight Facial Moisturizer with Retinol, Bakuchoil, Panthenol and Jojoba Oil, Skin Care Serum Vegan and Cruelty Free, 1 fl. oz

This is an interesting anti-aging product, as usually manufacturer put either retinol or bakuchoil in a formulation, but not both. For those that don't know, retinol is not safe to use while pregnant or lactating, but bakuchiol is. Bakuchiol is also considered vegan and non-irritating, so people who find retinol irritating can generally tolerate bakuchoil much better, and obtain similar results. Also, bakuchoil is not reduced in efficacy by sunlight the way retinol is. As I have learned the hard way to introduce new products to my skin, I am testing this out on my hands first, before graduating to my facial skin. Honestly, my hands need more help at this point than my face does anyway. I have been using a very mild hand exfoliator, followed by this Youth Booster oil, waiting several minutes for it to absorb, then topping it with a thick hand cream (like Weleda Skin Food or my Kiehl's hand cream). After only two night treatments (night because it contains retinol, and also because it's the only time any product can stay on my hands for any length of time), I am seeing a definite improvement to the texture of the skin on my hands. The texture is that of an oil, but it does absorb quite quickly. Now, like any retinol containing product, you really need to use this for months before you see real, noticeable change (thicker, more even skin), but I'm off to a great start with this. Also, just to repeat the obvious, it is SUPER important to use a good sunscreen on all areas of your body, but especially any retinol treated areas. Do not skip your SPF while using this!

It seems to be a super delicate sensitive skin youth booster. I hate marking down a product but I think it is too gentle for my skin. I haven't noticed any changes in two weeks. It is light and goes on a bit sticky. It does absorb well though and the stickiness fades. It smells strongly of lavender! I would think that if you have sensitive skin this would be perfect for you.

This product has the advantage of containing not one but TWO key ingredients to repair and firm skin. Each ingredient alone is supposed to be effective but there are clinical studies that have shown when bakuchiol and retinol were combined, bakuchiol stabilized retinol and actually prolonged its effectiveness. The anti-inflammatory effects of bakuchiol also allowed skin to better tolerate retinol. Using this serum feels a little like rubbing orange juice on your face. It has a mild orange/citrus scent and has the consistency and feel of orange juice without any irritation or stinging. It absorbs quickly but because it is not a cream or lotion, it is not very hydrating. I only use it at night (per the instructions) so the lack of lotion is fine. The only effects I have noticed are that my skin looks a little smoother, however I’ve only been using it a few weeks and to see noticeable wrinkle reduction it takes a few months of consistent use. So I’ll be patient!

I have never heard about this brand so I was intrigued by this company product. I decided to give it a try. After applying is a little bit sticky for very short time. It has a little scent which doesn’t bother me plus it disappears shortly after. I haven’t experienced any irritation on my skin. It leaves very smooth skin feeling. It doesn't leave any residue. I haven’t used it for a long period of time so it is difficult to say about results. This booster is a little bit pricey.

I've only been using this for about a week now, so I haven't seen any majopr changes in my skin yet, though my 22 year-old daughter thinks it's helping shrink her pores.I have sensitive skin and have been hesitant to try anything with retinol for fear it would cause lots of irritation. I'm happy to say that after four days use, there isn't any from this.I do have a couple complaints, however:First, the scent is overwhelming! It's a very herbal scent that my daughter thinks smells like lavender essential oil. It does ease up after having it on your skin for some time, but if you're not a fan of strong scents, this probably isn't for you.Second, the formula has a tacky/sticky feeling to it that makes it difficult to properly apply. The videos on the brand's Instagram show it being applied by placing a small amount on your hands, then applying lightly to the face. Unfortunately, due to the stickiness, the serum ends up going on uneven. It's just easier to dot it on and blend it into the skin.If it weren't for the strong scent and sticky texture, I would give this product five stars. But, as it is, it's a strong 4 stars. Recommended, so long as you're aware of the caveats.

One drop goes a long way. Lots of moisture. Easy to apply, not irritating.

Absorbs nicely, and doesn't irritate my skin.
