There is nothing in the spout to stop the boiling water from shooting out the spout onto the stove. I guess the whistle is a vent hole in the top of the lid, but it doesn't whistle. It's a great gift as far as beauty, but when you use it, you must be attentive.

Love this kettle except one flaw you have to turn it off immediately when it boils or the water spits out of spout

My daughter loved this as her birthday gift, she was very excited to use it and make her cup of tea with it. She has not said anything bad only good about the kettle.

I gave 3 stars because I bought this kettle 4 or 5 years ago and the handle just broke from usage. We use our kettle multiple times a day and every day. So 5 stars for kettle. 0 stars for whichever store just sent out the one we purchased! The kettle is dirty w stains (food and burner stains hard to see due to lighting), missing tea drainer, box broken and smashed. I bought a new kettle not used. Used is fine if I paid a used price. Amazon shouldn't just replace they should be able to focus on those customers who receive damaged and missing parts, website auto does not make a customer feel heard when experiences like this occur.

When I received the cattle I was even more impressed with how pretty it was in person. It looks really nice sitting on my stove.Also, I like that it whistles when the water is just boiling.It whistles before it gets to that rapid boil that can sometimes make your coffee grounds or tea taste like burnt crap in a cup.It’s easy to clean and retains its color and shine. The handle does not burn my hand. That’s always a plus . Overall, the price, design, quality, etc. are fabulous and I have no complaints. I have had this since April so I was giving it a little bit of time before I decided to review it.

For 3 months now this pot has been used daily and still does the job. The capacity is small but just enough for most hot water needs, also the whistle has only worked once.

It was love at first sight when I saw this cute tea kettle. But what had me hooked was the removable strainer inside. You could use loose tea leaves or tea bags. And a nice price to top it off. Happy I bought it. Already had several compliments on it.
