ASICS Women's Gel-Sonoma 5 G-tx Trail Running Shoe

This is the first pair of Asics I tried and I really liked them, having had Brooks before. I walk to work every day, go dog walking with friends and run 2-3 times a week. Following the advice of other reviewers, I ordered the shoes half a size bigger and they fitted perfectly. I have quite a narrow foot, my usual size is a 7 and the size 7.5 was just right. Some wriggle room for the toes and nice and snug around the heel.Shock absorption is great both on the heel and mid-foot, you even notice it just bouncing around the house, but they are not so soft that you feel like you are wobbling around. The sole is slightly wider than the shoe and ensures a secure footfall, which is essential for trail running (which I do). I am really paranoid about this, as I have gone over on my ankle several times in the past.I ended up in a shower on my first run and my feet stayed dry, so the GTX does its job. However, ventilation on the shoes is still excellent, when I wear the shoes I can feel the air coming through at the top of the shoe, so ventilation is lovely for running.All in all, I forget I am wearing them, they are so comfortable.

Sadly even a half size up was too small so had to return

I’ve been wearing Asics trainers for years now and find them the best for me, I’m a daily dog walker but nothing too strenuous. I usually get about a year, sometimes longer from a pair but in just over two months my relatively new trainers have an unexplained hole in them. To be fair I’ve been walking a little more than normal but not enough to expect this type of wear and tear already. Really disappointed as they’ve been my go to brand for years and I always recommend them!

I have always worn asics for running and walking my dog etc as they are so light and comfortable. Sadly however I am so disappointed in this pair. I have only worn them once for a run/dog walk and will not be wearing them again. After an hour my feet felt like they were burning up and I couldn't wait to take them off. They have very little bounce as most running shoes normally have and are just solid like bricks on your feet. I am so upset as now I have worn them I cant return them and I have wasted £85. I even question if they are real Asics at all as they feel so uncomfortable and cheap.

Running/walking

Great trainers, supportive, waterproof and good for anyone who has plantar fasciitis. Fitting is a little small which we expected and ordered half a size larger which fit perfectly. Ordered uk6 when usually a 5.5 uk.

These trainers have been ok but they did not last long. Have used them for walking and the mesh broke without any obvious reason after two months. They haven't been waterproof either, my feet have been wet every time I have walked in wet longer grass. Shame as they were quite comfy. For the price I paid would expect them to last a bit longer.
