deep emotions regarding trust and forgiveness
I love the Prologue of The Devil In Blue Jeans it does an excellent job of setting up the storyline for future stories of three best friends Charly Henwood, Aubrey Hale and Willow Quinn in a somewhat mystical way.Now fast forward to six years later. I love the friendship between these three girlfriends and how they support each other though life’s disappointments. The author knows how to weave life’s disappointments and challenges into a love story with spark.Charly is recovering from a cheating ex-boyfriend, so she is off all men and relationships. So of course, she can be a little prickly and defensive around the aggressive Jaxon Reed who continues to hit all her trigger buttons.Jax is very sexy and comes off aggressive in the beginning but throughout the book the reader will see that he is above all things protective for everyone around him. This book deals with trust that is broken, forgiveness, and love. There are areas of the book where I cried, specifically when Charly visited her ex-boyfriend in the hospital. I loved how the author handled this. I cried and felt such compassion for everyone in this chapter. It also deals with letting go of anger and learning to trust and love again.I think the reader will love this book and how the three girlfriends support and protect each other.I give it 4 stars.

Great
The Devil in Blue Jeans is a multi-layered tale of new beginnings, learning to forgive and change. Both Charly and Jaxon come into this with preconceived notions and a ton of baggage. But country mouse Jaxon isn’t going to let city mouse Charly push him away. I absolutely adored this smart tale. Looking forward to Willow and Eli’s story.

Didn't totally love it
3 stars."The Devil in Blue Jeans" by Stacey Kennedy has a lot goi for it, but I think the execution is a little iffy. First of all, there are *a lot* of subplots featuring *a lot* of characters. Some plots and characters are fully fleshed out, some get dropped by the wayside, and some feel forced to be there for sequel purposes. I liked the small-town Timber Falls, Montana vibe (albeit traditional). I liked the cowboy subplot. I liked both the core female friendship group and the core male friendship group. I loved the pact between the main character Charly and her two best friends Willow and Aubrey. Despite being a relatively quick and short read, I felt like this book was still a little long. I liked Jaxon, the main male character, just fine on his own, and I appreciated his backstory, but the connection between him and Charly is virtually nonexistent. I didn't ever get wholly invested in their relationship, so when sparks flew between them, I wound up feeling apathetic about them getting or staying together. I struggled to connect with them as the main couple. I am much more interested in Willow and Eli's story... now THAT'S going to be a fantastic read! Almost all of the events that happen in this book feel *super* convenient and/or shoehorned in to make the plot fit and work. Nothing feels seamless and everything feels rigid and forced. Also, it's sort of a spoiler, but I don't love what happens with Marcel. It felt 100% thrown in as a last-minute curveball to simply add drama and didn't feel like a real resolution in the slightest. This book is fine, but I didn't totally love it.

Charly and Jaxon what a team.
Charly and Jaxon meet when both have broken hearts. Both trying to start their lives in different directions from their past. They both have on thing in common a bar. The Naked Moose the end for one of them and the start for the other. They come together to try and make a town happy and find that future both are looking for. Their story tugs at your heart.

Sizzling cowboy romance
Charly and her two best friends make a pact. If their lives aren't what they hoped for when they turn 28, they would move to Timber Falls. They end up doing just that and become the new owners of the town bar, The Naked Moose. But business doesn't take off like they expect. The locals don't like the changes. That includes the previous owner, Jaxon Reed.Charly's fiery personality made for some really fun scenes with Jaxon. They had a great energy together which created some undeniable chemistry. I enjoyed the progression of their relationship from being rivals to a passionate romance with a sweet and spicy mix. This book was so much more than a romance. It was also about strong female friendships. These women stuck together and made big changes in their lives to try to move on from the past. Slowly they became a part of the community even though they were off to a rocky start. Charly listened to the locals and made some adjustments that made everyone happy. Keeping some traditions but also appealing to new visitors as well.3.5 stars

New Beginnings
This book will definitely warm your heart, friends, cowboys, and enemies to friends. When Charly and Jaxson paths cross, the heat can be felt but each one thinks they can get one up on each other to gain what they want, their lives aren't going in the direction they thought both have had to refocus and let go of dreams, but can they learn from each other and build new dreams. It's definitely a great start to a new series. I can't wait to read more
