I’m a senior sous chef in Herefordshire ( UK ) and being in a professional kitchen all day I found that the knives provided by my place of work were too blade heavy and not good for long sessions of processing food.I saw the deal on the two knives, chef knife and sontaku, and thought why not I’ll give them a shot ?They arrived and I am amazed.The quality is superb for a budget set. The handles are nicely finished and great In the hand. The integrated bolster makesIs easy to pinch grip the knives. The edge ... the edge is RAZOR if not sharper then razor I’m purely amazed. And the craftsmanship is unreal - the chef knife has a distill taper which makes fine dicing etc really precise and the hollow grind On the sontaku makes it easy to process hard vegetables like potatoes and parsnips because they don’t get stuck like a vacuum on the blade.WORTH EVERY PENNY- chef :)

Absolutely love it. It's sharp, handy, anything good to describe it. This kitchen knife definitely provide more than what you paid for. 10/10. (Fyi i did not get paid to write this, just genuinely being so damn good i had to write a review about it)

If you get a good deal on this, it’s definitely worth getting one.Only downside is the handle. It looks ok but fake looking wood isn’t the best.

These knives were beautifully presented in a magnetic clasp foam insert lined box. There was both a thin plastic bag around each blade and a hard plastic Tip Protector, which is a really good idea when you're looking at a sturdy, heavily bladed object such as this, a 'stab' injury could all too easily happen if you left it floating in a cluttered Cutlery Drawer.Sadly, I found the knives just too big and heavy for me to safely be using in the kitchen. I have small hands for one thing & am pretty short secondly, so even though the knives felt weighty and well balanced I couldn't have stood far enough over the blade whilst cutting, slicing etc., to have been in full control of those actions. I am much better with a smaller 6" sized Chef's Knife than this 8". Anyone with the same limitations would, I think struggle in the same way, that's not a criticism of the knives themselves, more a fact of life for anyone of small stature. If you have tiny hands, are weak in the joints through infirmity or illness and/or like me, find yourself using your small paring knives for far more than just peeling your fruit & veg, I think you too might find these knives a bit too difficult to feel safely in control of.As a brand though, from the presentation right through to the look & feel, I thought the set was first-rate, it both looks and feels classy & much more expensive than the actual price tag. The set would make a lovely gift for an avid Cook/Chef as it both looks and feels like a far more expensive item.

I got this set a few days ago and decided to give it a review now after several rounds of cooking. I'd say it's not a bargain price, but definitely it's so worthy! It came with pretty package, the knives were properly wrapped in individual packages. Holding them is very easy but stable. I am so surprised by its sharpness which is something I valued the most for knives. They are so good for cutting everything. Using it daily now and will definitely recommend to my friends

Like myself my father loves cooking I think that’s where I got it from. I’ve already some knife sets myself and I bought him this set. He usually has a big long knife for cutting meat etc. When he seen this set he said ah that won’t cut meat lol he was actually surprised how sharp it was and it sliced through meat. It also does vegetables like a hot knife through butter. Nice presentation aswell. He likes it so I’m glad I bought it for him.
