DIY Drill Dust Collector Vacuum Attachment

This attaches well to my Henry vac and if on a flat surface will hold onto the wall hands free due to suction. Not so good if on breeze block with pointing or cables breaking up the flat surface. It sucks up pretty much all the dust and has a big enough hole to get your drill very close in for deeper drilling. It is well built of robust plastic and my only regret is that I should have bought one of these ages ago!

Works perfectly. Very easy to fit and use. Still needed my daughter to hold it in place but a lot easier and cleaner than using just the vacuum cleaner tools. Great value.

A nice idea with mixed results. Drilling holes is always a messy business unless you get someone else to clean up after you, which is my preference. Dragging the vacuum out from under the stairs, attaching this widget, climbing the ladder, only to then find it's actually quite tricky to balance on the ladder while holding the vaccum hose at full extension in addition to applying forward pressue to the dust collector AND trying to wield the drill in something like a professional manner taught me that I needed a more strategic approach. Much the same result can be achieved by simply holding the end of the vacuum hose up to the hole you're drilling, plus I did find that the dust collector vacuum attachment didn't collect all of the dust, some of which got caught between the attachement and the wall leaving an annoying smudge. Just using the "naked" unadorned hose achieved better results. It might be my vacuum just isn't up to the task.

Arrived on time but does not really work. You need a long tube for the vacuum cleaner and even then does not attach well to the wall. When using it is not easy to see where you are drilling.

Ok for holes up to about 10mm

I purchased this along with the Silverline 868744 4-10 mm Drill Dust Collector as I am in the middle of a home-makeover and was fed up of cleaning up dust after drilling a few holes.The Bettware Dust Collector Attachment is a universal attachment for most vacuum cleaner hoses. It has an adjustable collar that should allow it to fit on any cleaner. The attachment is then placed over the area you want to drill, positioning the hole on the back of the attachment over the area you've marked for drilling, It's very simple.While the Silverline is great for collecting light dust, drilling larger 10mm holes can produce more dust then the Silverline can handle, this is where the Bettweware Vacuum Attachment comes into it's own. In use this extracts *all* the dust, it's brilliant. Also, on a flat wall the suction is enough to keep it stuck to the wall with no hands (though heavier hoses may not work in the same way).The only drawback with this over the Silverline is that you need more setup, getting out the vacuum, attaching the hose etc. where the Silverline is a grab-and-go item.Personally, I recommend getting both; use the 'passive' dust collectors for lighter drilling with smaller holes and a vacuum attachment for deeper or larger holes.Five stars!

Only fits certain Hoovers but not the 3 i own.Also left a diamond shape of dust
