Sun, sea and super storylines
More explosive but glamorous adventure is to found by watching the 50 team do their thing in procedural episodes, as well the more story arc heavy ones.Again we have the brilliant carguments between McGarrett and Danno, as well as the snappy dialogue throughout each episode. I particularly love the little asides that are thrown in like Danny saying to a suspect who is lying on the ground tied up and wriggling 'where are you going ?' In the context of the scene it was really funny. My only criticism of this is the high body count, I know this is an over the top action series, but I hate seeing so many people shot. In reality if so many people were to die during each take down, surely there would be endless internal enquiries and maybe dismissals on the team. Yes I know this is fictional so I try to ignore it, I am just saying I don't like it.For me my favourite episodes are those that heavily feature Dr Max Bergman and Kamekona. For example the story that involves Kamekona losing his van I love the suspect list he gives Danny Williams, especially the disgruntled looking customer wearing a shirt with Metallica on it. I wish we saw more of these characters. There are also some of the most amazing stunts I have ever seen. For instance a plane that crashes between a surfer on the ocean's surface and a boat nearby who is trying to pick him up. I literally held my breathe and also the stunt that takes place in the air when a parachutist is literally falling out of the sky. Stunning and I am not really into action stuff but I had to watch both twice they were so impressive. The stunts on this show are breath taking and so imaginative. I also loved the Hawaiian LARPING scene.Overall apart from some out of place story lines that involve temporary team members, this is so watchable, it is hard to stop once you start.

Overly expensive
Enjoy the series, always great viewing but because this season 2 was aired over a decade ago and the show is no longer running I feel it's too expensive. Probably won't buy anymore tbh. When I can just wait till sky show it. Too expensive to maybe watch 1-3 times at most

German region 2 Blu-ray Hawaii Five-0 season 2 release
Purchased together with season 3, season 2 arrived the following day, season 3 the day after in good condition. Both play fine on my region 2 Panasonic UB820 Blu-ray player, image and sound quality is good. The covers are in German; however, you have the option to play the discs in either German, English or Japanese with similar subtitles.Good value at £15.20 and £15.37 respectively. All in all very pleased with my purchase.

Book em Danno
McGarrett is in jail framed for the murder of the Governor of Hawaii while the rest of the team work to free him. Following on from where season 1 left off, resolving the cliffhanger from the end of season 1, this sees the elite federal task force Hawaii Five 0 team go after the island's most vicious and dangerous criminals. A lot of fun to watch though truth be told it bares little resemblance to the original 60's 70's classic original cop show apart from character names and the infamous instantly recognisable theme tune turning the series from police procedural crime drama into a full on action show. The regular cast lead by Alex O'Loughlin as the new Steve McGarrett and Scott Caan as the new Danny Danno Williams are excellent with a fun macho bromance between the two characters and lots of male testosterone even with the female characters. It's very macho and action packed with some terrific action. Scott Caan as Danno does come off a bit like the clichéd over protective father to his young daughter Grace but this is still one of the best action shows on TV. There's also a crossover episode with NCIS Los Angeles in this set and a cliffhanger ending sets up season 3.

High five for Five-O
Having watched the original Five-O in the 60's-70's, I wondered if this revamp would be as good. I shouldn't have worried as this series is far superior and gutsier. A lot of the stories have a common link which helps to give the series a feeling of completenessre: Wo Fat etc. The production is excellent and on a par with a lot of this type of American series such as the CSI's so if you like those then you won't be disappointed. They have made the relationship between Steve and Danny a bit more chalk and cheese so while they can rub each other up the wrong way the mutual respect for each other grows through each series. All in all a great action series that you can enjoy more than once. We already saw this on tv but enjoyed it so much we bought the first 3 seasons when we saw them at the right prices. Recommended if you like this sort of thing.
