This is a pretty cool looking sound machine. Its pretty cute with all the colorful lights. The noises include white noise, soothing music, crickets, birds singing, rushing water, thunder, rain, heartbeats, fans, and more. The description mentions 21 calming noises. I'm not sure whether all of the noises are calming, but there are plenty to select from. The colors cover the entire spectrum of the rainbow, and you may choose one or have it cycle through them all. I find it interesting that it travels from the bottom of the rainbow up, beginning with violet and ending with red. It's not a deal-breaker, but as an artist, I'm accustomed to beginning with red and progressing through the rainbow to violet. You may also choose pure white.

I find it a little odd that it goes through the colors from the bottom of the rainbow up, starting with violet and ending with red. You can also select pure white.The buttons around the top of the machine are intuitive, making it easy to select sounds and change the volume and colors as well as dimming the light. You can use this for sound only, light only, or both together. You can also set a timer for 30, 60, or 90 minutes, or no timer so it continues to run. With so many settings and ways to use this machine, it's appropriate for babies, children, or adults.I like that it has a small profile and doesn't take a lot of space.Our granddaughter stays over occasionally and is used to a night light and sound machine at home. This portable gadget will take care of both for her. I can't wait to see her reaction when she sees the rainbow of colors. It'll also be nice for traveling to help drown out hotel noises.The USB C charging cord is included, but you will need a USB A charging block to plug it into. I think we all have those around the house to power our electronics. It needs to be completely charged before use and took 1 hour and 45 minutes to charge.There's a plastic ring included, but I can't figure out what it's for. It would be nice if the instructions included a note about this ring and its use.The machine came well packaged with a styrofoam insert around the machine to protect it from damage during shipping.If you're looking for a sound and light machine with a small profile, I would recommend this machine.As a side note this CALMPER Portable Sound Machine with Light and Timer is Made in China.

I have tried a several portable sound machines, and this is one of the best. The sound quality is excellent and has very good volume control. The sound quality is right up there with a higher priced unit one of our family members has, plus the CALMPER Portable Sound Machine also has nature sounds. The sound choice options are very good. While you can only cycle through the sounds (not forward and backward), the 3 different types of sound (fans, nature, white noise) each have their own button so you don't have to cycle through every single sound to get back to one you want. And it remembers your most recent sound choice in every category for when you power it back on. Your most recent settings of sound choice and volume is also remembered so you don't have to start over the next time you use it.Speaking of things remembered, it remembers your most recent light choice. The lights work great. You can have it cycle through the colors or choose one. Add to that, you can make the light brighter or dimmer. Absolutely awesome when traveling and you don't know your way around in a dark room. The button to turn the light on is in the center so you can easily find it in the dark.It is a bit bigger than I expected but I didn't verify the dimensions first--I went by the photo of the hand holding it. That said, this is a great option for all around every day use -- home/office/travel.Includes USB-A to USB-C charging cable. You supply the power adapter.The only thing missing (and NOT a negative comment here) may be the ability to have the light on a timer as well. But you can only fit so much stuff in/on a smaller package.One downside is I wish there was a way to know how much of a charge is left so you know if it will make it through the night without needing to be charged first. But you can use it while it charges, so that is a big plus.It is not really possible to determine what button is what in the dark, but after you use it for a while you will probably get used to which button is where--or just turn the light on.This is a solid choice for a sound machine for every day use and/or travel and I really don't think you will be disappointed in choosing it.

The media could not be loaded.  As my video is shown, it has a nice night light (in our case orange) and bird sound without breaking at all. All the buttons work and the timer also works as well. It is somewhat heavy and bulky. Thus, even though it has lanyard, I won't carry it with us when we travel. However, it is very good quality to use it at home. And because of its size, it has the 1200mAh battery size which is bigger than other night light/ sound machines.

While I don't have any young kids, I found this light and white noise machine to be fantastic for travel. It acts as a great nightlight in multiple colors and can add a bit of white noise to help with random hotel noises.I love that it remembers my light selections (color and brightness) as my primary need was for the light features and less for sound, but it's come through on both wonderfully and I hope it's restocked!

Sound quality isn't what I wanted. I'll stick with my radio for background noise while sleeping. I just couldn't get used to this.

Sometimes I have issues falling asleep. I have seen these white noise sound machines before but never really paid attention to them because I always thought that how could sound/noise help you fall asleep faster. I never thought that a sound machine would make a difference but amazingly this little device has really helped me fall asleep quicker than I could have ever imagined.Upon unboxing you are presented with the sound machine with attached lanyard, charging cord (USB-C), instruction booklet and rubber ring to allow for hanging the unit.The unit itself has a rechargeable battery so you never have to purchase disposable batteries for it. The unit came partially charged but I went ahead and fully charged it before using it the first time. The sound machine has a 21 different sounds available which are broken up into three groups - fans (6 sounds), ambient (9 sounds) and white noise (6 sounds). These sounds are chosen by selecting the appropriate group button on the top of the unit. When selecting the sounds you know that you have cycled through all of them when you hear a tone which indicates you are at the beginning. The sound machine body has an LED nightlight that features 8 different colours which you can control the brightness of. You can pick the colour you want or select auto-changing and let the unit cycle through all of the colours. The sounds come from a speaker on the bottom of the unit and the volume can be set to the level you prefer. There is also a timer which allows you to select 30, 60 or 90 minutes run time. The unit appears well built and has a good weight to it.I have only used this unit for a short time but in that time it has definitely helped me to fall asleep much quicker than I usually do without it. In fact, the other night I was gone in probably five minutes or less which is virtually unheard of for me. I haven't yet used the LED nightlight part but may try it in the future. I was very skeptical at first that this would do anything to hasten falling asleep but this CALMPER White Noise Sound Machine has proven me wrong. Based on my experience I can highly recommend this sound machine.Priced at $29.95 at the time of this review.

I'm really impressed by the quality of this device, even though it hasn't worked successfully on my son yet.I got him to fall asleep to white noise once, using an app on my phone, so I picked up this device, thinking it would continue to help him sleep and save me having to surrender my phone. It hasn't put him to sleep yet, but I'm still happy with the variety of sound settings it offers. There are three main settings - fan, white noise and music - with multiple sounds available under each of those categories. My personal favourite is the sound of crashing waves at the beach, which is under the music category. I've probably gotten more enjoyment out of this device so far than my son.I like that it has a built-in rechargeable battery, although the supplied USB-C cable is very short. I've only had to recharge the device once or twice but have been making use of the built-in timer, so it's not constantly running.There is also a built-in light, with various colour and brightness settings, and a strap/ring you can use to hang it somewhere.Overall, a pretty premium feeling product for a not-so-premium price.

The media could not be loaded.  Portable, a couple attachment variations, and multiple controls to suit your needs…this little white noise machine has made it on top of my “must pack” list before any trip.Multiple audio styles and categories help to make your sleep hygiene that much better. Adjust the volume and the timer to customize all options. 
I find the charge lasts for a good amount of time, especially when using the 30 minute timer most times. I think on average I can get a week’s use or more out of it on one full charge. If not, it’s no trouble to top up the power again with the charge cord.I love the round hook attachment if you have a place to hang it on a bar or handle. Even the soft loop is helpful. But it works absolutely find just sitting on the night table, too.I deal with sleep issues and take an Rx to help. With this extra tool in my kit, it’s become my favourite aid for sleeping in places other than home. The media could not be loaded.  My bedroom window faces the street. My headboard shares the same wall as the bathroom, and the door to my room is right next to it. Also, I sleep half night, half day. Traffic, lawn mowers, people using the washroom etc would all keep me awake. I had been using fans year round to block out the sounds, but a big selling feature of fans now is low noise. When I first brought my puppy home, I borrowed a white noise machine hoping it would help him settle. I don't know if it worked for him- but it sure worked for me. So I decided to get my own.Things I like about this one:1. Its compact. It fits on my headboard, blocking sounds from the washroom and people walking down the hallway.2. You can adjust the volume.3. You can turn off the led.4. It is powered and rechargeable through USB.5. It has multiple options for fan, white noise, nature (mostly storms and streams), and a lullaby.It also boasts a timer feature, and comes with a strap and clip- useful for travel.I do wish it was a little louder, but I stay asleep and don't hear all the comings and goings- so that's just a preference I think. It drowns out the 3 fans I have in my room, and my sister says she can even hear it faintly in her room- so its probably plenty loud enough for most people. And rather impressive for a unit as compact as this. It also doesn't have as many sounds to choose between as the one I borrowed. I only used fan and white noise on both units, but its something to keep in mind if you're looking for more variety. I suppose the led was the trade off, and some may prefer that over an abundance of sounds. I don't use the light as it keeps me awake- but so do nature sounds, so it is neither here nor there for me.All in all a great little unit that does the job.

The media could not be loaded.  This noise machine not only provides good sound quality, but the loop repetitions aren't noticeable. For instance, I've tried noise machines for which the sound loops were very short (sometimes only a minute long) and I could hear a slight pause each time the loop started over again, which I found distracting when trying to sleep. In comparison, this noise machine provides a continuous and seamless output.While this unit provides a nice selection of music and nature sounds, I personally prefer simulated fan sounds. This noise machine provides fan noises ranging in type from a higher-pitched fuzz to a lower bass-like drone. Again, I appreciate the smoothness and consistency of the sound.To test the battery life, I successfully left the unit running for 12 hours at max volume on fan sound, as I figured that this length of time should encompass a longer-than-average sleep session for a grown-up or infant. I left the built-in light turned off during this test though as my priority was to test the battery life of the sound function.One minor criticism is that you cannot use this sound machine via direct AC power, as the instructions indicate that using the unit while simultaneously charging it can cause damage. In other words, if you run out of power battery, you're out of luck. Additionally, there is no battery remaining-power indicator. Therefore, if in doubt, it is best to keep this noise machine fully charged before bed.
