Fixed my fly/fungus gnat problem!!!
If you have a fly problem and nothing seems to be working, so please read further down for accomplished advice👇I don't doubt that this is s good product for aqaurium use, however my flat was overpowered by fungus gnats and I mistook them for fruit flies and regular flies - had no idea before going deep into the internet i finally found a solution that works. Read on for my long winded story on finding a solution...👉 First if you have never heard of fungus gnats and have a really annoying fly problem, look them up. They either live in your indoor plants soil (that's what I had, and it was a HUGE problem) by planting their eggs in the soil around dead roots, dead plant matter or even inside earthworms. Gross, I know. The solution to this is to throw out all your soil, clean the roots in a bowl of water. Of you're like me, trapped inside an apartment without outdoor space, then use your bathtub. Dispose of all the soil. Have no trace of worms, eggs or anything. It's really hard work, but trust me, it's worth it. Then you get new fresh soil, preferably an unopened bag of multi purpose compost, and replant your plants. Unfortunately, during this process a couple of my plants died, even the more robust ones. Finally get aquarium stones. Make sure you put some under the soil in the plant pot (this step is before reporting your plants) to allow drainage. This stops the roots etc from rotting and doesn't allow a hospitable environment for the fungus gbats. Finally after everything, make sure you put a top layer of the aquarium stones, to completely stop the reproduction of the fungus gnats. This technique is 100% worth it!!!Been suffering for months with a fly problem, trying anything I could make or buy - wasting so much money in the process. I will be putting this review on all the products that failed me, so as to spread the word. The solution needs to be shared as I couldn't find anything to help me.

Nice Gravel
I was looking for some lighter gravel to add to my tank, this is perfect it is a mixture of white, grey and even some browns occasionally. The thing is because it isn't really white I find it doesn't show up the dirt and algae as other gravels have that I've used int he past. Also although the description says course the gravel is actually mostly flat and round stones so it is quite soft with limited sharp edges, great is you have bottom feeders or Betta fish.

Not quite white !
Ok for the price, but I wouldn't call this gravel white - it's more a lot of white gravel with some not quite white gravel (greys, light browns, pinks, creams etc) mixed in, which becomes quite apparent when you initially wash it. The amount of white dust that washes off is amazing, and clearly it's this that gives the gravel it's initial overall white colour. As you wash it, you can see more colour appearing in the mix, maybe 5-10% of the gravel wasn't white. The attached photo gives an idea of what I mean. I was in a rush to use this as I was setting up a small tank that I needed quickly so I decided to just keep it and use it, but if my need wasn't so urgent and I really wanted only white gravel I would have returned it.I will say though that the size of the gravel, being approximately 1cm stones, which was perfect for my needs. I've used the much smaller (3-4mm) gravel and found that a pig to clean as it is so light it gets sucked up by the gravel vacuum I use, or just clumps at the bottom of the vacuum blocking the water flow, whereas this is bigger and heavier and is unlikely to cause the same problem.Happy enough with it, but the description needs to be more accurate.

Excellent Value WAVE 5kg Coarse Noa Gravel Substrate
I have found the 5Kg bags of WAVE Coarse Noa Gravel Substrate excellent value for money. I cannot speak of its performance as aquatic media but it makes for excellent top dressing for small volume plant arrangements.Unlike some, the product is composed of primarily small gravel pieces, and NOT a mixture of gravel with large amounts of sand/powder/crushed stone residue.

Perfect for my indoor plants
Perfect for indoor plants, and it's actually quite a big bag as well. I use this to mix in with potting soil as well as putting on top of the soil to prevent insects. It also makes my plants look beautiful with all the white stones on the top. I didn't have to clean the stones or anything, they went straight from bag to pot

Look ok
For the price it's reasonable. I washed these about 7-8 never managed to get rid of the dust luckily the water has been clear in the tank. Had a small bucket of crushed gravel left at the end which I couldnt use in the tank. These are not white it's more of of mixture with bit of black and mainly grey.
