A book with an amazing true story that we can be a part of!
From the book - "In my vision, this program would become a household name, a recognizable brand. It would be like YMCA or McDonald's: every community should have one." This was just launched in 2018, proof of concept in 2 schools in 2019, 133 in 2022, and 259 already confirmed for 2023, it is already on its way! This is great news because this opportunity to introduce young kids to the Bible is priceless and they make it as easy as possible to implement LEGALLY (still valid Supreme Court ruling from 1952) across the US. Joel Penton addresses the topic of separation of church and state very well and makes the point that this gives parents (and children) a choice, and many parents are excited to have a choice like this. I am excited to have a program that is just starting in my area. I had heard some of the story, but this book is a well done and easy to read comprehensive overview. It does have a neat feature that is implemented well - color coded pages that let you get a quick summary if you want. I agree with another reviewer, it makes you want to buy more copies and give to your friends. I hardly ever write a book review, but I had to make an exception with this one!

Do you Want Christian Fascism?
Because Lifewise is how you get it! They are coming for your kids. They want to turn them into mindless drones that have a low IQ and literal belief in the Christian Bible (only a specific one) with absolutely no reasoning skills. Because that is how you get people to line up with your fascist ideas without questions. This isn't about religious freedom, because of it was Lifewise would have no problem with Islam, Judaism, or Satanism being part of the program as well. If they come to your school or town make sure to run them out as soon as possible.

Highly recommend
Highly recommend this book which is well written and concisely tells the background and goals of this wonderful program successfully spreading through our public schools. I am a volunteer at one of the schools who adopted LifeWise last school year and see first hand the positive difference it has made in children from all backgrounds. For those interested in helping our youth succeed this is a must read.

Easy entertaining read.
As a volunteer for LifeWise I wanted to know the background story. It is a good one. I read it straight through in one day.

A great read.
This is such an important subject that all schools need to participate in Lifewise.

Kindling material
Poorly written, full of misinformation, and pushes white Christian nationalism. Gross. It will be used to start our fires, not even going to pass it on to a free little library.

A Must-read for Christian Parents, Pastors, Educators, and Ministry Leaders
We live in a day when, as followers of Christ, we seem to be offered only three choices in addressing our culture’s rebellion against God’s truth and His ways. We can war against our culture, seeking to defeat it. We can run from our culture, forming a “Christian bubble.” Or we can capitulate to our culture, morphing most, or all, of our convictions and practices into it. I am so grateful that in During School Hours, at least when it comes to public schooling, Joel Penton offers us a fourth way—a better way.Backed by careful research and supported by real world experience, Penton paints a powerful and beautiful picture of what it would look like for Christian families, churches, and parachurch ministries to place religious instruction back into our public schools, not by force or coercion, but by respecting and following the laws of our land. In During School Hours, Penton makes a compelling case for offering religious instruction during the public school day, explains why and how it follows the law, and outlines the way that it can be done in each of our communities.During School Hours is a must-read for Christian parents, pastors, educators, ministry leaders, and anyone one else who wants to influence our communities with the gospel, not by force, but by being the salt and light Christ has called us to be where He has called us to be—in and among our neighbors.

You're gonna want a bunch of copies.
This book is gonna land different than most. In that, after reading it, you're gonna want to buy about 50-copies and spend the next 50-days handing one to every Christian family you know who has kids in the public school system. For our family, the book was half educational and intriguing and then half inspirational and motivating.I felt like we learned a lot as to how The Bible was ultimately pulled from public school students long ago, and more importantly --- the repercussions of that move to our world today. But then you get walked through how LifeWise is literally bringing it back. Like to thousands of kids who would never truly learn about Jesus if not for being told during their public school day. And the inspiration starts kicking in.You see that this LifeWise thing isn't just like a "Oh, that's a nice thing" type deal. It's more like a, "Oh my goodness. This is literally something every public school in the whole country could do type thing and it’s actually happening.” And then you try to let your brain sink in what that would mean for our kids and our entire world. And that's when you end up with 50-copies.So yea, I guess if you don't want to buy a bunch more copies, maybe you shouldn't read this book.
