Great DVD for beginners
As a yoga teacher I purchased this DVD as I was interested to see how Elena Brower teaches as I have one of her books and I see that she runs workshops in the UK some times. From the other reviews it was mentioned that this was more intermediate level than beginners so at such a reasonable price (I paid under £6) I thought I would have a look at it. I have to say, from my perspective as a teacher, that I do believe that this is aimed at beginners. This is much gentler than the classes I teach which are aimed at mixed ability. She explains everything very well and slowly and she offers room for progression. If you take the modified versions of the poses offered this would provide a very gentle practice indeed and when you feel stronger there is scope to progress a little.AM YOGA SEQUENCE - This is 35 minutes long and incorporates a standing sequence - including a basic sun salutation sequence and then some floor-based postures. A very nice sequence for the morning - usually beginners find downward facing dog pose challenging which is perhaps why some people felt it was an intermediate practice, however, you just take your knees to the floor while you are building upper body strength. But overall this should be completely accessible to beginners, just take the modifications offered.PM YOGA SEQUENCE - This is a 25 minute sequence, entirely floor-based and very relaxing. Very gentle and definitely for beginners. There is room to grow - again listen for the modifications offered if it feels too strong and you are a beginner. But very well suited to an evening practice.Overall a very nice DVD, not challenging for me as a teacher BUT great for those days when I need a gentler practice and just want to relax.

Yoga Positions Need to be Performed Slower
Have played some of the DVD and it all looks lovely but because of problems I have with my wrists, I'm unable to perform a lot of the exercises as they require to be supported by your wrists, on the floor. I will try to modify them myself, to suit.Recorded in a stunning location but would have liked all the Yoga positions, to be slowed down as can't look at how to do them correctly and perform them at the same time!I would love to have the strength, grace. body and energy of the Teacher but don't think I will be able to perform the Yoga, to such a high standard in order to do so. I'm a beginner and think perhaps, I need to have a more basic introduction to Yoga, first. I will persevere though and see how much I can improve.

a really good guide to yoga
It is very good guide to yoga exercises, when you can start fast the practice of morning or evening sessions without waisting excess time on the set up. It does not requires you to have any equipment and has very effective toning effect on muscles just in one week while the following guidance calms your thoughts.

so I am very familiar with all of the moves in DVD which is fine, for something to do in house
It has two discs am and pm am is about 45 minutes long and pm about 25 mins.. I think it's ok for beginners . i have been doing yoga for many years, so I am very familiar with all of the moves in DVD which is fine, for something to do in house. I preferred going to a class but my regular class stopped and i haven't found a replacement at the time i wanted to do , so bought two dvds. I would recommend it for beginners.

Very Good worth sticking with
Lady has a lovely clear soothing voice many poses offer easier options its all still too fast for me and will take a few weeks until I can keep up. I think this is one of the best beginners lessons I have found although I still wish they would go slower and someone would make a DVD for fat unfit over 60's I love the meditation bit

A good DVD
I go to Yoga classes regularly and have always wanted to do a bit more at home. This DVD is good as it splits two 35 minute routines into am and pm. I do the am one as often as I can and although some of the things are quite advanced , I just skip those and either do something else or do a simpler version. I haven't done the pm one yet as it is always too busy in our house . I do think you need to have done a bit of Yoga before you use a DVD like this though as you do need to know what to do and how to do it so i would recommend this alongside going to a class. The instructor is good , she has a lovely calm voice, clearly explains what to do and it is filmed in a beautiful setting . It has some really relaxing background yoga style 'music'- all in all when I have done the AM routine I feel revitalised , stronger and refreshed which is all good stuff. Would recommend it !

Softly spoken and affable
I'm so glad i bought 2 of her DVDs. Elena Brower has a beautiful voice and temperament, which means Yoga is far more enjoyable and meaningful. Some yoga personalities are a tad too harsh, but Elena seems to have the balance just right. As suggested for the PM yoga, get in your pyjamas before doing the session. Without fail, i have the best nights sleep having done some satisfying stretches and taken on board her words of wisdom and encouragement. After a day where i might have done a run or tough circuit training session, this PM session is the perfect gentle exercise for nurturing the muscles and joints and settling my mind.

Good starter dvd but am sure it won’t be long ...
Good starter dvd but am sure it won’t be long before I require more - found the sound quite low and the instructor doesn’t give you very long to get into the correct position - I’m not a beginner to yoga (needed easy stretches as suffer with Fibromyalgia now) but still couldn’t keep up
