I work in a facility that has a lab, and we bought down on an ashing furnace due to supplier issues. So, we needed to add an additional shelf ourselves. For under 200 dollars, we added the extra tier for a shelf, and for the actual shelf, we used this cooking grate! We cut it to fit and it's working flawlessly. It is not warping under the heat of the furnace (850 F) or showing signs of degradation. Because we like the results so much, we are purchasing another one of these grates and converting all the shelves to this grate instead of using the factory shelves in our furnace. given the conditions we're putting it through, we would expect several useful years on an old fashioned grill as well!
