We love this feeder! There are a couple of things you should know to enjoy it. First, black oil sunflower seeds are the ONLY seeds that work with this. We tried a normal seed mix, but most of it just fell out through the mesh immediately. Then we tried little suet balls, which were too big for the birds to get out. Finally we tried black oil sunflower seeds and although some will slip out of the mesh, most will stay in there and the birds can indeed pull them out. There are other types of sunflower seeds but you need the black oil type specifically.Once we figured that out, it took about 2 or 3 weeks for the birds to discover this is a bird feeder and start to use it. I think this would've happened faster if we put it near a more typical bird feeder they might recognize as a source of food, or near a more established one they're already using, but we put it next to another new feeder with another unusual shape and the birds just didn't know what it was. But then one day a bird discovered it, and it kept coming back, and within a couple more days we started seeing more birds catch on and now they use it all the time!We've had no problems with the chain or the hook. It's doing great even after some crazy storms this summer, with relentless wind, rain, and hail. Honestly this bird feeder held up better than our fence did!This feeder is really pretty and the birds love it, and it makes me so happy to see them enjoying it often. I'm so glad we didn't give up on this bird feeder. Use the right seeds and give it time and you won't be disappointed!

Love this bird feeder. 🐦 on it & rabbit & gopher below. Fun to watch. But had to get squirrel shield over it as they loved it too. Bought 2 extras for gifts & were loved

I actually put Suet in the feeder for the Woodpeckers and other birds. I also bought the Sunflower for another part of the yard. Fast shipping and great selection.

Had this hanging up for a few weeks, the chain broke on it. Good thing is that it didn't break when it hit the ground. You have to use smaller seed, but not too small and the pieces bigger like corn or sunflower will get caught.

We use it for sunflower seeds. Easy to fill. Has so far foiled the squirells. Small birds (finches, etc) like it.

This feeder is hanging in the space in front of my apartment window. It fits the space perfectly!

You have you get the right size of food, if you fill it with seed, a lot of them fall out. I broke up some suet cakes and put them in here. The birds love it and it looks cute.

Just received it. I didn't know what to expect in terms of quality so I kept my standards low. I am pleasantly surprised by how nicely it's made and how pretty it is. I can't wait to use it. I hope the little birdies like it too!!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Put it up over the weekend. After 3 hours of observing it and kicking it, the little birdies finally warmed up to it. There was such a big crowd on it and flying around it. They seemed to like it more than the cylinder type I had up previously.

This is a very pretty piece to add to my yard. Not only is it functional but adds a pop of colour.
