Offered to a French 10y old girl - for her English+ culture. Wasn't sure...but it turned out to be a hit! The entire family plays hours with this game and they (nicely) show off what they have learnt through it at each museum visit!!Convenient size to take on for holidays

original game on all things artistic
This is a wonderful idea for a game. It is a type of Trivial Pursuit for art lovers. It comes nicely packaged in a hard box with a nice magnetic seal. Inside there is a book explaining a series of things and offering some background on the history of art. The game itself consists of a series of nicely presented, fairly large cards which ask art related questions. This is a game that requires high reading competence and a good background in art, so it will probably only appeal to children 13+. It is very enjoyable for adults too. A very original idea.

It's a book. It's a game. It's a bame! It's art, and it could make an artist of you.
Halfway between a book, a set of Top Trumps, an art catalogue and a trainspotters book, this is a collection of art, prints, details about them, and a collectors paradise. My son doesn't really do art, as such, but we're planning to visit some of the free museums and tick these off, seeing them ourselves with our own eyes, and explore. My son hasn't really got the hang of it! As there are all manner of games and options you can play with these - the aim is to expand the understanding of the art and its effects and try to grow an appreciation for it - on the other hand it also serves as a very suitable set for adults. You might love it too.

Nice quality cards.
This is a nice variation on a card game - their recommended version is "art rummy", but other games are also suggested. You could also use them for quiz-type games, if you covered over the relevant bits of information. The cards themselves are nice quality - stiff card, semi-gloss, and about 50% larger than a standard deck of cards. Cards show various well-known paintings, from the renaissance to contemporary. Cards are categorised by theme and movement, and a booklet is included to explain e progression of art movements. The games are not as explicitly educational as you might assume, but I think you (or your children) would absorb quite a lot, just from interest. And it could easily stimulate a child t want to learn more about a particular artist or movement.

Fun and Educational
This is a fun and educational colourful art game for children target age 8 and over. The box set comes with a set of 54 large "Top Trump" style cards with pictures of a key word of art and some key information. The cards can be used to play a number of different games, instructions to play are enclosed. Due to the nice large size of the cards, some children may find if difficult to hold many cards in their hands for some of the games that use more cards. There is an accompanying paperback book in the presentation box which gives more information about the works of art shown on the cards. Nice present for an arty 10 year old, or a good resource for a junior school art teacher.

Enjoyed these cards very much,we played art rummy which is similar to gin rummy, art snap and gallery trumps up to now with still guess the theme of the art show and guess the name of the artist to yet play.Beautiful paintings by Leonardo daVinci, Vincent Van Gogh and many many more comes with a very educational book with the rules for the games and very interesting information on the paintings or artist.Be a ideal present for people who love art who also enjoy card games especially for these cold winter nights ahead of us

A fantastic way for families to share their love of art
We were really, really impressed when this arrived. It's a simple idea, well executed. Brilliantly informative about different movements in art, this is a game that the whole family can play together, learning more about art in half an hour than I ever did at school! It isn't hard to see who a game like this is aimed at, but I can't emphasise enough how much My Big Art Show can offer to any family where a child or parent has an interest in art. For children wanting to know more, parents wanting to share their passion or anybody open minded, this is a great idea and a lot of fun to play.

The paintings were good examples and great being on handy cards
I did not realise there were so many different styles to art. Each style has a card with a very brief comments which for me did not explain what makes a painting that style. The paintings were good examples and great being on handy cards.
