Top quality handset at a very good price
I always wait a while before reviewing tech because things can go wrong very quickly, however, have now had this mobile phone for almost 4 months so feel I can give a fairly balanced review. The phone itself feels great in hand, albeit a it larger than many handsets on the market. The camera fixing does protrude quite a bit from the rear of the phone but Redmi (Xiaomi) have very kindly included a clear gel protective case, which also follows the protrusion of the camera unit so you can confidently place the phone down on a surface without worrying about damaging the camera. I also additionally bought a camera unit protector which sticks over the lens to offer additional protection although this is optional.I actually bought this to replace my S21 at the time which was damaged, and surprisingly despite being far cheaper I haven't really missed anything. The phone has a nice big screen, which is bright and works in all light levels, call quality is fantastic, there's plenty of RAM and CPU power to power you through all of the common day-to-day tasks. I've had no problems using social media, streaming such as YouTube, Netflix and live sporting events, using Google Pay in stores and much more. I haven't tested gaming as I'm not much of a mobile gamer but I'm lead to believe that performance is also good in this area. It's worth noting that the fingerprint scanner is on the side the handset on lock button, I'm lead to believe that this is more secure than Samsung's under screen fingerprint scanner. It did feel odd at first, but I don't really notice it anymore. My finger just seems to move there by habit now. There's really only one con I can think of mentioning with this phone, and it may well be the most important for many people, and that's the camera. The camera cannot compete with flagship models by Samsung or Apple, it'll do the job in a pinch and can take reasonably good photographs of items such as buildings and cars, but doesn't do too well with people, particularly on those with darker skin. For me, I don't take too many photos so it doesn't really bother me, but it may well be dealbreaker for many.If you're looking for a well priced, performant phone and need to take the occasional photo then this is for you.

A seriously impressive phone with some drawbacks
After using this phone for a couple years now I'm still incredibly impressed with it, but over time I've had some annoyances with it.I'm still 100% sticking with Xiaomi as their price to performance is unmatched. For starters you get a massive screen, 120hz display, ok storage and decent set of RAM although now 12GB should be the standard.Camera is brilliant outside but inside quality can be pretty bad.Now to address the elephant how on earth does Xiaomi do it? It's pretty simple and that's bloatware, a ton of apps you don't want that Xiaomi make money from while serving you higher end specs so long as you ignore them you won't be forced to watch an add they do however take up storage and cannot be removed without using de bloating which if not careful can brick your phone. It's unfortunately part of the product which is why MIUI gets a seriously low score from me.All in all you also get fast charge meaning within 50 minutes you can have a fully charged phone. For now tho I shall be moving up to the impressive redmi14 pro which boasts a whopping 200mp camera and half a terabyte of storage for only £300.Although I don't like the MIUI it's a small price to pay for insane performance

Excellent for an Andriod (1st time user)
As a first time user of an android phone moving away from IPhones, this phone did 3 things really well in my mind:1) Good battery life2) Camera quality was excellent3) Superb screen resolutionThings I preferred on an iPhone:- Usability of the phone was lacking but this could be down to user preference - being use to Apple IOS.- Slightly heavier than I’m use to / chunkier - not noticeably though.I’d definitely think about getting one if you’re on the fence, especially for the price of these phones. A lot of depth compact in a handheld device

BETTER than my Iphone!
After having issues my the camera on my iphone 13 pro i was urgently looking for a replacement phone which would give me fast access to apps, should be easy to use and most importantly the camera quality should be as good as my iphone and this phone has ticked these boxes and beyond! I was abit skeptical buying this phone due to it being cheaper and not being a premium apple product but i wish i knew about this phone earlier. It is fast, i am able to use multiple apps at one go and have had no lag, the screen responds exceptionally well and the camera quality is just WOW! My iphone used to struggle with photos in the dark but the Xiaomi shoots clear videos and very sharp photos in all lighting conditions. For the price, this phone is packed with features and goes beyond more expensive brands. I am over the moon with this purchase. Highly recommend!

Battery losing power
The phone is quite good and the fast charging is great but I've found that 5 months in the battery isn't holding as much charge as it did in the beginning which is very disappointing. Before on Battery saver mode the phone would last the whole day with about 15% left when I'd go to bed. Now I need to charge it again fully in the afternoon to get through the day. Don't know if it's because the superfast charging is weakening the battery but its very frustrating.

Dissapointed
I bought this phone in end of May this year and right after I got it I was a little bit disappointed with its performance which only got worse. Not only the performance is slow and weak but the photos and videos quality is very very poor. I do believe this is a malfunction on my specific phone as both of my sisters have the same phone and both are great and take amazing photos with an incomparable quality, no delays, no issues whatsoever.
