I bought this specifically for installing ferrules on 2AWG wire for a solar installation because the advertisement stated it could handle it. The additional dies would make it a tool for many purposes. I'm using aluminum wire which is actually a little thicker than copper.I was not happy when I found a single crimp allowed the ferrule to slip right off. Crimping multiply times got it to hold but looked like a mess. I noticed it also wasn't an equal crimp with one side crimped more than the other. If I used the smaller 25mm slot I could get a better crimp but then I had to manually release the pressure on the handles as it was too tight to get an automatic action. I haven't had the need to try the other included dies to judge them good or bad.Being a retired machinist I've decided to keep the tool as I can modify it as needed to make it function as it should and when finished I'll have a working tool for all my crimping needs. The overall design is good but quality and precision is lacking. Probably made in China but nothing stating country of origin.As there is no included documentation included I've printed the diagram from the Amazon website to show which dies are for what purpose and also a wire chart showing all wires diameters and gauges to keep in the case.EDIT 6/20/25 The seller reached out to me and remedied to my satisfaction the problems. I wasn't expecting that and it's great that a seller stands behind what they sell. For that I have increased the star count

This tool was used to crimp 16 gauge non-insulated flag terminals. Before buying this tool I wasted so much time and effort trying round, needle nose, and vise grip pliers to get a good crimp but couldn't. My small hands didn't enough strength to crimp or the vise grip pliers would crimp too much. I watched the product video on amazon, a few youtube videos, and practiced on a few terminals before actually using the tool on my project. Place the non-insulated terminal in the tool, make sure it centered underneath the crimp die, barely clamp it to secure it in place, insert the wire, and then crimp. The ratcheting mechanism makes crimping easy, precise, and secure with 1-2 squeezes. I easily increased the crimp amount by adjusting a screw. I used two hands to squeeze the handles because my hands are small but they weren't hard to squeeze. The tool is heavyweight and none of the parts appeared flimsy or precariously attached. Though I hated buying this tool just for this one project, I'm glad I did because I was finished with my project in minutes as opposed to hours and with a whole lot less frustration.
