Getting Groomed: The Ultimate Wedding Planner for Gay Grooms

I give this three stars because as it turns out, it's not going to be very useful for our wedding. It's still 18 months out and we already have the venue, DJ, photographer, florist small wedding party. This binder is really for people starting from scratch. A lot of text stating the obvious. This book spends a lot of time trying to be "cute." All the chapters are titled after very gay pop songs and the first chapter talks about throwing a "kiki." Maybe I'm not gay enough for this wedding planner, but not all us gay men know or care what a "kiki" is, nor do we plan all of our events based around gay friendly pop songs. I would have liked something a little more straight forward (no pun intended) and just to the point of planning a wedding. I'm thinking most gay men don't need a lot of advice from their wedding planning binder about how to plan a wedding. I think I would have appreciated more of a workbook, ledger, and less of a tongue and cheek take on gay wedding planning. I could have done without all of the cliches. I'm sure this will suit someone's needs, just not ours. Sent it back today.

My now husband and I purchased this"bible" about 8 months before our wedding and could not be more grateful that we did. Every single detail is thought out for you. There's no guessing when you should do something because the outline is so thoroughly thougt out for you which is exactly what I wanted. Someone to tell me what to do. No guessing! It's true that gay or not this book is perfect for planning a wedding but of course is super fabulous for us gays!! I'm just so thankful to have purchased this book. Jason,the author, besides beeing married himself is one of the top wedding planners in NYC so you know your in good hands!

Bought this book for my brother in law when he got engaged to my brother! They loved it and read it right away!

Helped keep us on track and places to hold wedding artifacts

We bought our copy used and it was certainly worth the price paid. Budgeting, creating new traditions where Hetero traditions just don't make sense and staying on track with the timeline of when things should be done, was very helpful.

The first part of the kindle book has a link that reads it goes to a webpage that has worksheets to help you. It is in fact a page to purchase the book in hardback. The writer works hard at being cute. I'd rather it be less folksy. The idea of getting marry is fun AND serious. I felt like the writer was making it like a of the cuff joke. My partner and I were hoping to find some serious help in planning a gay wedding. Instead we found the writing making light of our wedding. While a time to party we are serious about it enough to have a wedding service. That the link to a page that is for purchasing the book all over again shows the publication is not ready. I would not suggest this book to a friend or family member. Disappointed.

Got this for a gay couple....had to read it first. Full of great, concise information useful for ANY wedding! With an added bonus of humor! The couple loved it!

Never mind that the SCOTUS decision makes some of this outdated. It's a great resource and helpful guide to discussing and planning a happy day.

This book came and the pages weren’t even in the ring binder and were all out of order and creased as well as markedEach section only has one page you can fill is so if you only have max 50 guest great, if not this definitely isn’t the book for you!
