I thought I found a bargain, but the installer, who has done automatic gates for a few decades, suggested something beefier, with a brand name, a warranty, and a manufacturer that has spare parts if needed. I also didn't see the eye-ball safety that is required for garage doors.If you are on a budget and want to roll the dice, the price is awesome and may work great for you.I

My gate is nowhere near 40 feet long and it's also nowhere near 2200 pounds, considering my cousin and I can pick up the main gate and carry it around fairly easily. It's 12 feet wide. So, I had to shorten the chain. I already have a whole kit for shortening and combining chains, so I just used that. The whole installation process was, well, it wasn't terrible. It wasn't all that great either.It works fine. The remotes work from my car. I did manage to get homelink setup in my RAV4, but it took several tries for some reason. I guess it's supposed to stop if it hits something, but it doesn't seem to. I tried holding it back (while it was nowhere near closed, and not by standing in front of it like an idiot) and it just kept pushing. I didn't feel like breaking it or hurting myself so I just stopped trying.I have no idea if it would carry some monstrous, 40 foot gate. It seems a bit strained with my 15 foot gate, so that may be a bit of a stretch. It is working just fine at the moment though.

This is a heavy duty automatic sliding gate opener kit. It does involve a good amount of time for installation. It comes with two remote controls, which is definitely a plus. I have it on a smaller gate which is more than what I needed. The kit came with everything you need and the remote control is a simple function open, stop, close. You can also set it up for automatic closure with adjustable times. This would work great for a much larger heavier gate.

A good, sturdy unit with enough power to slide a heavy gate. Installation is as to be expected with no real problematic issues.
