honestly this thing ROCKS
This is my 4th walrus audio pedal and I absolutely love it! There are 3 different distortion modes; one sounds classic, another is super fat, and the last one is more modern. I like these presets b/c I can easily dial in a tone in between songs live... Of course, its beautiful, good size and is well made(can feel the weight too it)Basically, if you have the money to spend on a great distortion and need different/ want different presents that are easy to switch between, this is a great option. Now if you're looking for your first distortion pedal for a good price, then get a boss. It won't look or sound like this though IMO.

Best drive pedal for the money
I thought I had found my main drive pedal until I got this one plugged in. This was supposed to be my beefy pedal for when I wanted to go full out drive! And it does that. But shockingly if you take the drive down to near nothing it is a really nice tube amp sound. Perfect amount of breakup. I may need a second on to keep on full drive now.

Rockin' with 3 modes
3 clipping modes, so it's kind of like 3 Rat style pedals in one. High quality, built to last, and amazing sounds from a great pedal company.

great pedal! good sound
works find but the power connector was a little loose when i got it, i have to jiggle the connection sometimes to make it work, despite that the pedal sounds awesome you can make it give you lots of bite or, just enough, depending on what you want.

Gnarly, nasty and fun
Disclaimer: I have just started using it, am not that experienced with pedals, and my previous experience with a distortion pedal was a Boss DS-1. Plugging it in for the first time this made me grin from ear to ear. It is thick, deep, dirty and perfect. A little dark, maybe. Sounds great on its own but I put it behind a big muff and tube driver on a small bedroom tube amp. Would recommend

Not great for the price
This is the second one of these that I've purchased, I bought the latest version first which had a soft bypass switch (that I didn't like) and a led that fell inside the pedal after one practice so I returned it and got the V2 (this one) and for some reason the level control, when turned all the way down was still audible, it only became inaudible when both the level and gain were all the way down. I never experienced that with a pedal before and I don't know if it's designed that way or if mine was, once again, defective. So I've returned the only two WA pedals I've ever owned. As for the construction, I've seen reviews mentioning the high quality construction, that wasn't my experience, the pedal felt light weight and cheap to me, especially for $200 I mean, I own cheap pedals (sub $100) that feel more well made than this thing. The tones are good, but you can get these tones from other pedals for less money, and I would suggest that's what you do.

Blown away by the tones...
Wow...this performance blows me away. It is one of the best distortion pedals money can buy. It'd got 3 different voicings from the 3 position switch, giving a range of usable tones with the 3 rotary dial knobs. I am glad I bought this, it has earned a place on my pedalboard. Great stuff from Walrus Audio.

I love the sound of this pedal. It provides a welcome bite that OD does not. Really loving this thing!
