Fantastic quality product!
Shouldn't have been surprised at the quality of these shoes, they are Clarke's after all! Yes, very comfy. Yes, value for money (they were in the sale!). As for durability, that remains to be seen, but i have great hopes as they are well constructed with a good leather (?) insole and a nice tartan pattern fabric lining. Details not noticed online in the pictures! A great winter walking show that I won't stop wearing in the summer!

Bags of bang for your bucks!
These are roomy shoes, but I wouldn't describe them as too large. But if you are dithering over two sizes mayhaps select the smaller of the two. That said they are fantastic value for money for a classy, hard wearing, well made pair of shoes. I think we'll get along just fine.

Good shoes - watch out if you have gravel.
[Update] Now fully broken in and very comfortable. One lace has frayed/split already however. Probably a fluke, but unexpected with tis much use.Slightly larger than my previous Clarks shoes of the same size. Still fit me fine however but better with a thicker pair of socks. Overall quality is good as expected from Clarks. Could do without the darkened toe and heel - would have preferred to let the leather look and be new when new and then age gracefully rather than being ersatz. Style means they crease immediately but not an issue as they look good. Quite comfortable but not as much as the previous Clarks ActiveAir ones. Sole is a bit of a pain. It's a classic heavily cleated style as used to be standard on all walking boots etc. Trouble is that it grabs all the gravel off our drive and drops it in my car and the house and means I scratch across any hard floor - admittedly a niche issue, but actually a real pain so not recommended if you have a gravel drive.

So good I may buy another pair
These shoes fitted perfectly - 11UK and within half a day they felt like I'd been wearing them for ages. They are extremely comfortable, look good and have excellent commando style grips. I bought these for the approaching winter as my regularly worn shoes have no grip. Best of all is the price £45 ish for a solidly built, comfortable "sensible" shoe is fantastic. I'm tempted to buy another pair!

A pair of work (lifting flagstones, demolition, clearing asbestos) and walking (footpath) shoes
Bought these as they were the nearest match to the last pair of Clarks I had.Size is to European standards. I have wide, flat feet and wear arch supports. These fit well.Have had these for a year now. Not put any polish on them. Wear them for part of every day to do the toughest jobs. They are wearing well. Except had to replace laces after a few months.Would I buy them again? 5 star yes.Hope this helps

Watch out for the sizing
I bought these to replace an excellent and well-loved pair of Ecco shoes (Track 6 GTX) with an equally sturdy looking sole. These Clarks shoes aren't in the same league - thinner leather, little padding around the foot opening - and I'm pretty certain won't last the 20 months that the Ecco shoes survived. But they were more than half the price so I'll stand for the loss in quality. So, the pros: it's a semi-smart shoe that will stand for a good deal of outdoor marching around and not look out of place with a pair of slacks rather than just jeans - I have a long stride that means the outside edge of my shoes' heels take a battering; these are standing up well so far. And the cons. Watch out for the sizing. I'm a UK 10 and most times manufacturers equate that with a Euro 44. Clarks doesn't, and it matters: these shoes are a touch too loose for comfort without a thick sock. Also, the laces - while pleasingly sturdy - have an annoying habit of regularly coming loose or undone altogether. I don't know if that's down to the shoes being too big, but it's a niggle nonetheless.

Good solid comfotable shoes
Buying shoes on Amazon saves so much hassle. You don't need to brave shoe shops crammed with rabid women who collect shoes as a hobby. You don't need to hang around while they try to find the right size in the back of a store room. Amazon would never try to sell you the brown ones when you want the black. And Amazon is cheaper. These shoes are exactly as you would find in the Clarks store, good quality neat shoes, that are perfectly comfortable, with none of that broguing nonsense.
