Alltrade Powerbuilt 640819 Mechanical Scissor Jack Black, 3000 lb, Scissor Jack

Used to replace the VW jack in 1979 VW Bus. Hopefully, I'll never need to use it. VW jack is unstable and not recommended. This looked good, was designed to handle the weight and is certainly more stable. Oh, and it was a good price.

Great product for the money, used to replace OEM Jack on Nissan Xterra 4X that I did not know was missing until I needed it! Car bought new 2 years ago from local dealer, who deny culpability. Lesson learned, check new car for jack!!

Corks, but cheaply made

A huge improvement over the useless little jack that came with my Honda Insight. It's bigger, sturdier and lifts the car high enough that I can actually change the tire. It looks like it would life a small house.

This jack has a sturdily constructed and rigid frame and a fairly wide base. This is critical when jacking up a 3300 pound car that you're going to slide underneath, which is why I bought it. Unfortunately it is almost unusable because of the abysmal quality of the threaded rod that provides the mechanical advantage to lift the car. This rod should be absolutely straight with precisely cut threads and a polished finish so as to reduce friction as it screws through the threaded socket, opposite the crank side of the jack. The threaded rod in the jack I received is slightly bent and is rough-finished and pitted all along the threads. With the jack starting all the way down, during the first 1-2 inches of lifting, the crank was hard to turn, with no load on it, even after I lubricated it. Also it would be a lot more useful if the crank handle was long enough to reach more than 12 inches under the car.

This jack is easy to use. My Fiat does not have a spare tire or jack and this makes me nervous. I've never used the inflation system provided in place of the spare tire but if I have a blow out it can't possibly seal and inflate the tire.

Great tool

These lightweight jacks are good only for ideal conditions. The tire changing situation that my husband went through recently should have been left to the locals who knew what to do. The original factory model twisted under the weight of the car and this item is a replacement.

The jack is well made but the handle is a little weak! The pivot in the handle is a riveted pin and was slightly bent after 4 tires change. I would replace it with a high quality nut and bolt if I were to use it more! Happy with my purchase as it arrived in record time and replaced my OEM jack like a charm! No way I was going to pay 200$ for an OEM jack! this will do just fine! 4 stars due to the weak handle .... easy fix!
