Perry Ellis Men's Tubular Leather Dress Belt

REVISED **AGAIN**. Back to 5 stars. After seeing all of the positive reviews noting that there was no bad smell I decided to try another one of these belts as I have lost some weight and needed a smaller size. There is no smell and this is otherwise a great belt and a great bargain. I guess the smelly ones must have been a bad lot and they have fixed it. Wearing one of them made me naseous, and my colleagues all were asking what the smell was. This belt has good durability Stretch well and fit good. The only downside it is not 100% Leather as as advertised. I still recommend this belt as it holds up well and is stitched well. The same style same brand name Perry Ellis Porfolio Tubular belt was 100 % Leather. The one I received today is stated on the inside as Faux Leather which is synthetic material that is durable and cost effective as to real leather. The cost of my prior purchase was the same and was genuine leather same maker and I am sure to be cost effective to the consumer the price remained the same rather than increasing if it was manufacturing from real leather. All in all still satisfied but for the description should be changed to Faux Leather and a description of what is faux leather as opposed to 100% leather.snd why it is manufactured that way.

I got this belt in black. It is very nice for the price. It is narrower than many jeans belts and has a near dress quality finish. But, it is a single piece of leather unlike almost all dress belts so it will not delaminate and the finish will not come off. I got it after borrowing the same belt from my brother when I forgot one while traveling. His is ~ 5 years old and still looks good.I read the reviews about the smell and thought that some people are overly sensitive. After all, my brother's belt didn't smell. The truth is this belt has an unbelievably strong smell. I could smell it outside my closed closet door and it stank up my whole walk in closet. I ended up wrapping it in newspaper and hanging it in the garage for a month. After that, it was acceptable (but still smells if you put it up to your nose).Despite the smell, I'm thinking about getting the chocolate color because for the price and quality I can live with hagning it in my garage for a month.

Great product

Have use the belt for about three months. I am surprised at how flexible yet durable the belt seems. Looks really nice. All that I wanted it to be. Great price. Doubt it’ll last for the next 25 years, but for the price easy to replace it may be 3 to 5 years.1 yr updateI wear it about 2 to 3 times a week on average. It has been a great belt to wear, with little ware. I can only imagine that Perry is smiling down on this product right now. Would recommend, would buy again. Photos are from the update

Manufacturer used to make a full-grain leather belt. Not any more. They should really create a new item in Amazon instead of back-dooring a piece of garbage that benefits from the previous item's 5-star reviews.This is leather bonded to rubber, whatever the hell that means. It lasted 6 months and the wear got pretty bad. It delaminated within 12 months, something I would not tolerate at this price. This is garbage. Don't buy it. Go find yourself a good full-grain leather belt and avoid the crap.Here's my original review and an update to it. Time to look for another vendor.High quality, VERY long lasting belt (got 3 years & 2 months out of the last one!)This full grain leather belt is top quality.This belt has lasted me over 2 years of regular wear so far and still looks great. I've never had a belt last more than 6 months, so I am very impressed with this one. Will buy again. Highly recommended.Update - After 2 years of daily wear plus daily wear of a cell phone belt-clip holster, the leather started to get pretty worn in that spot - visible to close inspection but still looked OK for wearing. Wearing the belt the opposite way or switching the holster side was an acceptable frugal trick for life extension.At 3 years and 2 months of daily wear, the leather loop split from its staple inside the belt. Maybe my extra 40 pounds gets the credit for that - just being honest. Time to buy a new one, and I will gladly buy the exact same belt (OK maybe a size larger).

Unfortunately, this belt's smell is a deal breaker. I'm not sure if QC is terrible, or half the reviewers are corporate shills, but I would definitely put stock in the reviews that complain about smell. I really wanted to like and keep this belt- the construction quality seems top notch and you can tell the leather is of high quality. It is also perfect for dressy occasions due to it's classic, simplistic style. However, the smell that clings to clothes and goes around with you all day, did not relent over time. Multiple people have smelled it from several feet away. Smell is one of our strongest senses and I definitely did not want people judge me because of this.ADDENDUM: I actually went to the store; lo and behold I found the same belt- but this time only had the faintest smell, nothing that would bother me or anyone else. I talked to the saleswoman and apparently the belt originally did reek, but was unpacked immediately and sat like that for a very long time. I suspect the reason why many belts coming from amazon reek so much is that they remain in their tight, air sealed packing for a very long time, compounding the smell. Even when I let the belt that I got from amazon air out for ~1wk, the issue did not go away. I would advise amazon to unpack these belts while in storage and will modify this review from a 1-star to a 3-star.

Faux leather belt. It is hard to cancel and return. No value for money. Quality is not good. Bad. It is Faux. And return is very difficult as well. Be careful in ordering

The product description says the belt is "100% leather", but the belt itself says it is "Faux Leather", which is not genuine leather at all. The belt looks well made, but as it is made from a synthetic material, I don't know how long it will last. Therefore, I have decided to return it.

Good belt, comfy and good value

Buena piel y el acabado "tubular" sin costuras y la hebilla delgada se ven muy bien. Es un cinturón algo ancho, no solamente la altura de lado sino también el grueso, por lo que puede atorarse en pantalones con presillas muy estrechas.Viene un poco más largo de los normal. Yo siempre compraba cinturones talla 34 (ya que estoy entre 32 y 33), pero tuve que cambiarlo por un uno talla 32 ya que el sobrante casi llegaba a la bolsa izquierda de mis pantalones.Los primeros días, el olor del teñido de la piel puede ser algo fuerte, pero después de una semana este desaparece. Me gustó mucho, incluso estoy considerando comprar también el de color chocolate.Para AMAZON MX: Ojo con su proceso de devoluciones/cambios, tienen mucho que mejorar tanto en el envío de regreso de los productos como en la velocidad para hacer el reembolso. Espero que pronto estén a la par de AMAZON USA.
