Really good fun!
This kit is a great introduction to electronics, however, it can be a little challenging for people who never built electronic before because there are several different parts that can be damaged if assembled incorrectly. And if they do get damaged, you have no way of knowing unless you have spares or a multimeter to check.I enjoyed this build a lot and the radio is surprisingly nice quality.It's also easily modable and fun. I would definitely recommend this if you're interested in electronics.

Good instructions
Bought for my 82 year old father for Christmas. As a former amateur radio enthusiast and electronic engineer with Marconi, I felt he’d like to have a go at this to make sure his skills are still up to scratch. :)

Can be tricky but not impossible.
Surprised it was cardboard, but what do you expect for the money. Instructions were tricky but relatively clear. Bit frustrating at times but the fun in the challenge. Like anything involving a haynes manual can be a bit frustrating but rewarding. Enjoyed making it.

Not bad - supplied missing a resistor
Bought for nephew as a present - he enjoyed putting it together but, tbh - I don’t think he got it working and it did have a missing resistor as supplied. I did manage to buy a replacement resistor (from Amazon, I ended up with about 100 of the same resistor for couple of quid - couldn’t seem to buy a smaller quantity which is a little wasteful - they are in the workshop now, I may one day find a use for them) … I expect he will get it going in the end. One thing I would say is that doesn’t have a nice case - seems to involve the cardbox box from what I have seen of it…..

Bought for son as an extra for Christmas. He sat down to complete, took his time, but it didn't work, he claimed the diagrams changed their minds as he progressed and ultimately ended up frustrated. Of course, I didn't believe him, took it apart, rewired it anddddddd yep... the diagrams would say one location on one page, then swap on the next page... I tried different combinations of the diagrams and ended up in the same situation as my son... suffice to say... maybe it was just a dud, but ended up in the bin.
