Didn't really live up to such rave reviews
Not really a grill or BBQ - you don't get the flame grillled taste and things do take a long time to cook - but that saidburgers and sausages etc are still juicy after 20 mins cookingOnly used it 3 times and didn't really live up to the rave reviewsOK if you are only cooking for 2, but fairly expensive for what it is - a camping gas stove on a low light would probablybe a better and more versatile option

One of the most used products I have ever bought
I have had my Cobb now for ten years. I am on my fourth Teflon plate and my 2nd coal basket, and it looks a bit dented but it still works as new. I always take it camping, I use it in the garden, and I take it for picnics. It is one of the most cost effective, and most used items I have ever bought so I have definitely had my moneys worth.Having the Cobb wok, grill plate and frying pan, I can cook almost anything, anywhere. You haven't lived unless you have a bacon and egg roll halfway up a Scottish mountain!I have had people at camp sites gifting me fresh fish that were caught as little as 15 minutes before hand, and we all were eating them 10 minutes later.Ah...the memories! If it starts to rain, just lift it up and put it under shelter. It is easy to clean and store and compact enough to take on day trips. The one thing I would not cook again on the Cobb though is steak. You just can't get it to sear and the steak ends up being boiled.Pizzas, curries, chilies, fish and the usual BBQ sausages and burgers all come out excellent and I cannot recommend the Cobb enough.

A new way to barbecue
Hesitated to buy this product but now I have, absolutely no regrets. If you want burnt, dried up old meats as with traditional barbecues then this is not for you. For succulent chicken, beautiful lamb then look no further. So far I have cooked butterflied whole chicken, smoked for added flavour and Greek spiced lamb leg from the Cobb cookbook. As well as chicken fillets burgers and sausages. After use I put a camping kettle over the remaining coals to heat water for cleaning. Simple to clean, beautiful to look at what's not to like? Have not yet tried the wok and fry pan but am sure they will be lush. Can't believe that you get 3 hours cooking from 10 briquettes but you do. After dinner treat is toasted marshmallows and that was after doing a whole leg of lamb. Being dubious, checked temperature with meat probe, everything was spot on. Also love that this can be safely in the middle of table with no smoke or hazards, so much more sociable than smokey traditional barbecues. I just love it

Awesome piece of kit. Serious cooking potential. Be warned!
I've rediscovered cooking! I'm one of those types that really does not enjoy kitchen based cooking. I just find the whole experience too claustrophobic, use every pan and pot possible, the net result of which is stressed out cooking which I don't enjoy the taste of. My wife bought me the Cobb Premier for my birthday this year. And I've been hooked from the moment I first lit itIf you're using the cobblestone then do stand back after lighting as it does flare up for a few moments and could singe the old eyebrows quite easily. As the cobblestones are a bit pricey for everyday use we're saving those for camping. Day to day I now use heat beads - see heatbeads.com. These produce fantastic heat and after cooking I simply drop them into a bowl of water to cool, drain and leave to dry and then reuse. Be warned, a cloud of ash will erupt from the water. An alternative method is to drop them into a metal tin with a tight fitting lid. But best not try to carry it around with bare hands though afterwards!!So, am I now cooking? Absolutely. First meal was a full roast chicken, with roast potatoes and veggies. Since then I've cooked a variety of complete meals. Literally everything cooked right there on the garden table as we socialised. After meal treats can include toasted marshmallows, or as we did on one occasion, topped the coals with some previously used heat beads, and baked a chocolate cake. There's something really quite different smelling a cake baking when you're sat in the garden. How's that for outdoor cooking? There is a downside. My three burner gas barbecue hasn't had any use this year and so is now relegated to the back of the garage. Cobb cooking really is quite addictive. And I for one love it.

if Heineken made . BBQ'S
I'm not sure about the colour on this one, mine is completely stainless steel, however I don't believe it makes a difference.I was dubious spending so much on a bbq. But so glad I did.Pros: great to use, safe around the little people as cool to touch except the lid.So far I have cooked jacket potatoes, rib of beef, boned leg of lamb, two boned chickens at once with vegs in moat, the big breakfasts, the list keeps on going.Used mainly for camping feeding 6 hungry people.Couldn't be with out it, Wok was best extra to buy, and going to go for the extension ring soon as well. You use very little fuel.CON: I can't get it as new looking once I scrub it, but I have been told I have OCD. Takes a while to learn to leave the lid to keep the heat in and NOT keep on turning the things as you would on a normal bbq.
