Q: would these fit a wide foot

I suspect not (of course depending on 'how wide'). I find them comfortable UK Size 9 and width of my foot is about 85mm. Were my feet 100 mm wide they would not be comfortable.

Q: Are they improved water proof

Not sure about improved waterproof. It's a while since I had these shoes (over a year) my last impression was that I'd worn through the heels, I do a great deal of walking, and they were letting in water there. Sorry I can't be more helpful

Sorry I don't know the answer as I've no longer got the shoes as they wore out too quickly.
