Spirals All Bent
I’m a teacher and have used Blue Sky planners for years, they’re great. However this current purchase, the spirals are all bent. No way will this work for the upcoming school year.

Competent planner nicely opens flat, back-folds flat, but there are some odd design choices
Nice week/month academic-year planner for teachers, musicians, and others who work or plan "seasonally" from mid-summer to mid-summer. Planner is generally meant to be used when opened flat on the desk, forming a 17w x 11h (inches) workspace. The planner includes both month-view and week-views layouts. When opened to a month-view (Jun '23 through June '24), the booklet affords 2x2-inch squares for notes for each day of the month. Month-views are easily located via nice, laminated, printed tabs. Pulling a month-tab all the way to the left opens the desired month, but the user will notice that the left-page is about 24-pound paper (holding the tab), and the right-page is about 18-pound and significantly less sturdy.Week-views display a standard layout of three day-panels on the left for notes, starting on Monday, each about 3x10 inches. The right-page contains two similar panels for Thursday and Friday, and two half-panels for the weekend. When working with a particular day, the planner easily back-folds and lies flat to save desk space. Weeks are generally printed on 18lb paper except for the last half-week which is on heavier paper (the other side is the beginning of the next month).Week-views alternate with their respective month-views, and because of week-month length disparities, there are either four or five week-layouts after each month -- but the breaks are unintuitive. Sometimes you will find the first day of the month *after* its corresponding month, and sometimes *before.* Perhaps to save weight and paper(?), the planner does not add the pages that would allow it to standardize the beginnings and ends of months. The pictures on Amazon (June '23) do not show that this 8.5x11 planner has a separate, heavyweight clear-plastic cover to protect the contents. This is a nice feature. One could form a nice coffee ring on the cover without damaging the contents. The back-cover is heavy black vinyl or ABS, and will protect against coffee rings as well.Overall, three-stars for the planner plus a bonus star for the plastic front cover, quality printing, and nice binding. it's a competent planner if you have the desk space to use it and a briefcase to carry it. It's too bad that the designer chose to scrimp on extra weekly pages that could make it easier to locate the first and last days of the month, and on consistent paper weight which could make it better at handling erasures, highlighters, and sharpies. If those are important to you, keep looking.
