Great Book!
Even though it's a novella and pretty short it's still a good book with an encouraging story for women everywhere.

A Short, Sweet, and Satisfying Read
I really enjoyed this short story. Mason and Amanda weren't looking for love when they met. They had their problems--Mason's was financial, Amanda's was anxiety--but it was amazing how well they meshed despite them.Mason's laid back attitude, gentleness, and understanding with Amanda were the shining points of this story for me. Not once did he condemn her decision to withdraw from society. Not once did he scoff at her anxiety attack. He listened, related, made her feel not so alone.Amanda's slow descent into hiding made sense. It really did. What she did at her former job took guts. It couldn't have been easy on her during and after all was said and done, but the bravery she showed just to step forward and point out inappropriate behavior of a powerful employer speaks for itself. Despite her withdrawal, she was no coward. She put a face to what it meant to be brave. This was a pretty short story, but Ms. Cane didn't info dump or leave me hanging. Her characters are surprisingly well-developed, the dialogue relaxed, the pace perfect considering the characters and their individual issues. It was a nice, quick, sweet and sensual romance that delivered the happy ending I wanted to find when I was done reading.3.5****Received from Edelweiss via Tasty Book Tours for an honest review***

Same Old Plot, But VERY Short
The actual book is only 93 pages long. Then there are 26 pages of excerpts or advertisements for other books in the Valentine Valley series. Then there are 8 excerpts/promotions of ebooks by other authors which ends on page 170. There are some interesting characters in the Valentine Valley series & I have continued reading the series because of that. However every book has the same plot. Someone new arrives in Valentine Valley & in the first 24 hours has a steamy sexual encounter with a decent local person who has never ever done anything like this before. And this always ends in true love & a long term relationship. My biggest concern is having young impressionable girls read this & feel that this is the way life works. It isn’t. Having a sexual encounter with someone you just met & have a strong attraction to most often leads to disappointment & sometimes things worse than that. This author has some interesting characters; like the Widows, but I think she should develop some new plot ideas & have characters develop friendships & trusting relationships before having a sexual relationship.

LOVE
This series of books is awesome. I loved reading everyone of them. This author is very good at writing and telling stories. I saw the first book in the series at a used bookstore and it appeared to me because of the name Valentine, so I had to take it and read it.

When the Rancher Came to Town: A Valentine Valley Novella
Emma Cane has added another great and sweet story to her works. Valentine Valley is not a place one could go wrong when looking for a soul mate. In this short story, love finds two people who really aren't looking, but find each other and their story will make you happy!!

It was a really good story, but not worth the price I paid for it.
I really liked this story, but felt it was too short for the price I paid. Just about the time I was really starting to get into it, it ended. Yes, you get a HEA, but it's a rather rushed one. It felt like the author realized she was coming on on her required word count, and threw in the HEA as an after thought. But there were a lot of things I did like about this book, too. For being such a short story, I thought the main characters are surprisingly well-developed, and the dialogue was relaxed and very believable. The pace of the story was also perfect and I loved the secondary characters, especially the "Widows".Would I buy this book at this price if I had it to do all over again? Sorry, but probably not. This Novella took up only about the 50% mark on my kindle, and the other half of it was used for advertisement for other books.

Wish It Had Been Novel Not Novella
As much as I am a big Emma Cane fan, I was disappointed in the length of this story.....very short.Turned the page and the book was done...waiting for "sinker" to end their relationship. THEN, the hero riding the white horse, or in this case bull, for the happily ever after......Lbump
