Helle knives, sharp when they arrive
As a knife collector of Benchmade, Boker-Germany, Buck, Case and Puma-Germany and Spain, I have own many knives to give as comparison to Helle knives. Helle brand knives are made in Norway only. I was attracted to the beautiful curly Birch handles, everyone unique. All hand made. Bought first ones and found them not only beautiful with a nice feel in the hand but SHARP. First knives I’ve ever owned that were triple laminated stainless steel w carbon steel cutting edge. They also offer several types of blade steel and Rockwell hardness blades for every application. Helle knives are dollar for dollar the best knives in my opinion. Quality, pricing, choices, there many. For this reason I own 18 Helle’s in all configurations. I started collecting at 16 yrs old. Now 68, you won’t go wrong with Helle knives. Seen em all

Perfect EDC knife
Finally, the perfect everyday carry knife. Blade is the normal level of Helle sharpness and durability. This is just the right size for EDC duties, not too big and not too small. The handle is what separates this from other sharp blades. Rounded instead of flat and with an effective finger stop so the sharp blade only cuts what it is supposed to...and not your hand. As long as you don't mind pulling the blade open, not sure what else you could ask for in a folding knife made for pocket carry. Some like the spring assisted opening but I prefer less moving parts that will ultimately fail. Also, the Scandinavian grind is a feature that was also a selling point. Makes cutting and sharpening easier. Super high quality knife that will look unique and be brutally tough for years to come...until you pass it down to the next generation...

Everything you'd want in a pocketknife
My new daily carry pocket knife. I was concerned that the handle thickness would be uncomfortable in my pocket, but its virtually not noticeable. The blade is a three layer sandwich of stainless with a high carbon core that is easy to sharpen and holds a razor sharp edge.An heirloom to be passed down to my Grandson (although hopefully not soon)

Folder failed.
I have the kletten. I like Helle knives. I have 3 folders and numerous fixed blades. As a brand I have more Helle knives than any other. This is a small folder that has been my EDC since I purchased it approximately 3 years ago. At about 2 years the blade started to show a little wiggle in the locked open position. The locking mechanism started to stiffen up to eventually stop working. I have done all the usual maintenance, tried adjusting the screws but part of the mechanism is just warn out. This was a relatively pricey knife from a company that I think typically makes great knives. The bigger folder I use for work still functions perfectly after about 15 years of pretty hard use. I hiked the AT which took 6+ months with a fixed blade on my hip and it was easy to keep sharp and held up perfectly under hard use and very little maintenance. So Helle knives are not the issue, just this little folder. I’ve had $30 cheap folders last much longer. Can’t recommend this knife and won’t replace it with the same model. It’s a shame, it was a great knife for discreet EDC the short time it lasted.

It’s a Helle
The media could not be loaded. As with basically all Helles, the shape and aggressive inward curvature of the knife from handle end to blade tip make it feel like a natural extension of your body when cutting. The rounded birch handle is very beautiful and comfortable. Locking mechanism is solid. The belt clip and lanyard hole are nice extras as well. If you want perfection in your knife, Helle is a good bet.
