I’m surprised at some reviews. This item heats my bedside table, the plug under the bed gets very hot. If you could controlit at the heat pad as I’m not getting out of bed scrambling under bed to take it out of the plug. This is what I’m having to doIt’s too hot to put an empty cup on so another space to protect on bedside table.

I bought this as a gimmick, it is very well made , keeps drinks hot and plugs into my sofas or chairs, great in the home office to as is very portable, I have difficulty with my legs do it saves me having to get up if my drink has gone luke warm, a great Christmas gift for the price of a magazine, I will be buying dome more as presents

I agree it's not quite as warm as i would like, but it's OK.It is important to remember that the bottom of the mug / cup must be completely flat so as to get the benefit. None of mine are, but i use it with a small glass teapot that almost flat and that makes a big difference as the heat conduction is more efficient.So if you do have problems, try looking for a mug or other receptacle with a totally flat bottom.UPDATE: to make it hotter, plug it into a USB socket connected to the mains power. Makes it substantially hotter!!

Came in eactly the colour/pattern I wanted. The metal part gets hot, however it doesn’t really keep drinks in your mug hot - lukewarm at best!

Unfortunately due to the design of all mugs (a concave base with a lip around) the base of mug does not actually touch the heating pad and therefore does not heat up. I went out to search for a mug with a totally flat base and found one in all my searches. It still did not work possibly due to the heavier weight of the ceramic. There was a slight warming effect with bone china but not enough to keep your drink warm.

Bought this because i kept forgetting my tea at work and it would always go cold before id drank any more than half my tea, and one of my co workers convinced him self that I wasn't drinking the tea he made on his round so thought I hated him.so I bought this and now my tea will stay drinkable for much longer and i always finish it before the next round is due!

Loved this product great for home use during these times keeps your coffee warm whilst working and near by as you can plug it into your computer .
