Item purchased - Pumpkin Android 7.1 Octa Core 2GB 32GB 8"I have purchased the cheaper version of this stereo first and this was useless so it got sent back.If you want a proper Android device as your car stereo look no further. This is full Android device with slight custom configuration to work as your car stereo too.I have been using this for a few weeks now trying to find faults and any issues but I have found none.This is an amazing bit of kit. I use it for running mostly Google maps, Spotify and the Torque app with the Bluetooth OBD2 (Torque Pro Elm 327) also sold on Amazon.This unit does not lag between actions or run slow at any point it handles all you can throw at it very well.As of yet no down sides at all. Any questions please ask me I am happy to share my good experience with this unit.Thanks for a well made unit!!!

Update...I was sent a new front bezel with a different touchscreen and it's 100 times better. Apps look as good on new screen as any other device i have at same resolution. Happy so far with overall performance of the unit.Kept one star off not because of how device is now but it should come with this screen quality from the start and I should not have to take the unit apart to fit a screen.I ordered this (Pumpkin Android 7.1 Octa Core) a few weeks back as I loved the concept and flexibility of Android device in the car.Im sure it can get a 4 or 5 with these issues solved.The unit looks well built and fits easily in the car.I had a few teething problems but the pumpkin support guys were really helpful and most of the issues have been sorted after a firmware and MCU upgradeIts great having access to android apps in the car..Things I like.Connects to Skoda Steering wheel controls straight away.RDS works really well but AF is ok.Big display and unit looks good in the car.Loads of storage options (USB and SD) I connected a 128gb USB and it worked fine.GPS is solid.Things Im not keen on.Reversing shows a No Signal Screen when I have reversing sensors but no camera.Air Conditioner controls not on screen but are on other VW canbus reviews (not a big issue though).No Android Auto.Screen seems low contrast. See photo comparing screen to Amazon Fire 7", This makes maps very hard to read but fine on the Fire HD. (see attachements)Still have an intermittent freeze on the unit that the pumpkin Guys are working on.The support team have been great so Im hopeful the issues can be sorted.

Update: Further to the below, I have been contacted by Pumpkin who have been trying very hard to rectify this issue for me. I have to say that I have been extremely happy with the customer service received in the past few days, in particular by a staff member called Tiffany. Tiffany has been working really hard to turn this around for me, and it is because of her actions that I wanted to update my review to let others know that from a customer services point of view I now feel much more positive that this should be resolved in the next few days by my stereo being replaced. I intend to update this review again once the matter has been fully resolved. Keep up the good work Tiffany, and thank you for your assistance so far. I look forward to closing this matter out with your help.I've been meaning to write a review on this product for a while. I've had mine for seven months at the time of writing this, and wholeheartedly regret purchasing it in the first place.The device in my opinion is simply not fit for purpose. I have had to contact Pumpkin directly a few times to obtain firmware updates, but none of these have stopped the device from crashing multiple times on a daily basis. Honestly, I still have to reset it 3-4 times every time I start the car! This is annoying in itself, however the reason I say that it is not fit for purpose, is that Pumpkin themselves have told me not to use more than one app at anyone time. What they mean by this, is that if you want to use Navigation, please do not use the device to listen to music at the same time. Ridiculous! Why produce this if it is not possible to use it in such a basic manner. Most users I would imagine will want to listen to some music while using a Navigation app at the same time! In my opinion, the processor is not fast enough, and there is not enough RAM installed for the unit to function as consumers would want it to.Pumpkin - If you would like to create a better device, take note of this simple recommendation. If you would like a better review, I'd be happy for you to take my device back, upgrade the RAM etc and I will happily produce another honest review of your product. But for now, I would advise anyone considering whether to buy this to AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!One other point I should mention - the RDS function does not work on the radio. If listening to BBC Radio 2 for example, rather than displaying "BBC Radio 2" as the station name, you can expect to see something like this instead: "~#@ R+d;0 2". Shocking, the whole thing is just awful. You will regret buying it too, I promise you. I say again - Avoid.

First impressions.. I'm very satisfied with the head unit and the support. Until now everything just give a positive attitude. The radio made from good materials and very accurate. The lcd 8" big enough, bright,colourful and good resolution. Touch panel sensitivity is perfect, easy to use. Start quickly system is ready after few seconds. Very fast.. Get immediately response for booth of the touchscreen and the physical controllers too. No any lagging at all. Sound quality is very good and enough loud. Wifi signal is strong and long range. Satnav find the position immediately using Google maps nice and smoothly fading the music until say instructions (radio, youtube any )

Work's perfect, have it a couple of week's and no problem's, seller was always prompt with replying.

Very disappointed got the unit in working and linked up with all my content and the device just crashes on boot up 25 percent of the time ! Would be perfect if it didnt crash on boot up .. the thing is its random not all the time but at least 5 to 8ntimes a week which i can not live with please contact me to arrange replacement or a fix !!!
