MicroBypass Parking Brake Override Bypass for Clarion

This works as expected and was a nice surprise. I did test to see if my Clarion parking brake wire could just be grounded to the unit but no dice. I did not want to deal with a switch or anything bulky and this did the trick.

bought this for my new nx404 system i was adding to my 1012 kia optima. installing the parking break cable was going to be a MAJOR PIA. this eliminated the need to do that and allows the video to play anytime i want it to. i am smart enough to not use it when driving i don't need/want it locked out. install time was literally less than 2-3 min. wires have the same color code as the factory wiring harness. match wires and splice.

This works well. Allows others to watch a video while I am driving. Good way to keep others occupied while on a long trip.

Used on Clarion NX404 head unit. Blue wire is spliced into amp turn on lead (Blue to Blue), Black wire is spliced into ground (Black to Black), and Green wire goes to parking brake lead on the head unit only. You DO NOT splice this into the Green wire from the vehicle wiring and the Green wire of the head unit, ONLY the Green wire of the head unit. Don't try to mess with grounding to the radio chassis or with a relay, purchse this, wire it in (takes like 5 minutes) when you install your new head unit, it just works.

Wotks like a charm!!! Bought a pioneer double din avh model and ordered this awesome bypass so my kids can watch their cartoons while driving.. if u cant keep em quiet..ur unit is useless right?? Happy dad now that the kids are quiet on all rides lol. Extremely easy to install.

How easy is this? I didn't wanna take the trouble to trace down the right color coded wire and find the wiring diagram etc. etc. etc. I purchased this mainly because of it size, and it was installed very easily. It does exactly as stated. My iPod videos play and a DVD will play. Although I certainly won't be watching goin down the road. Another reason I purchased was, quite occasionally when I put my parking brake on, it will stick and not release. I have to fight with it to do so. Don't wanna take the chance.

There's not a whole lot to say about this bypass other than it is simple to install and it works perfectly. I just installed my Clarion VZ401 a few days ago and tried a movie out today so my son could watch something while running his sister to a friends. I actually waited to install the VZ401, because the bypass got here after the player and I didn't want to have to pull it out to hook it up. Only three wires to hook up (ground "black", parking brake bypass "green", and remote turn on "blue"). I use a conversion harness for my car stereos so that I don't have to splice the factory wires, so it was easy to just twist them in while hooking the harness to the Clarion harness. Only problem I had was the shipping was slow even though I chose expedited. It should have arrived the same day as the stereo. Worth the time and money though if you need your DVD to work while driving.
