Second speedometer on my driving instructor car
It's brilliant. The small oval disc allows both the driver and the passenger to see the speed when it's placed in the middle of the dash board. It dims when it gets darker and brightens when it the sun comes out to auto contrast and ensure you can see the speed in all conditions. My only slight criticism is that it doesn't switch on or off automatically when you switch the ignition on/off. A fantastic aid for ADI's

How fast you're really going…
If your speedometer predates the widespread use of speed cameras, or is just prone to fluctuating when at speed, the cheapest upgrade you can make to your peace of mind is this Valeo Heads Up speed display. A sat nav may well do the same for you, but this is less obtrusive than a sat nav, and throws the result up on your windscreen in a way which is easier to keep your eye on. It will also beep if you want it to when you reach a predefined speed. We have this running in a Series III Land Rover, and it really does help. The heads-up aspect is neither here nor there, but having a GPS assisted speedometer makes it easy to know exactly how fast you are going. The only downsides are that i) you have to plug it in to charge every few days, ii) it takes a while to start up, so is no use in the first mile and iii) it requires GPS, so won't work in tunnels. For such situations, you have to rely on your regular speedo. However, you will at least have extensive experience of what your speedometer is saying versus how fast you are actually going, which is important on older cars.

easy to use and very accurate
I bought this as I needed a secondary speedometer as I'm a driving instructor and the car I use to teach doesn't give me a clear view of the dashboard. Easy to use, neat little device and very accurate.

Wouldnt buy another
I wouldn buy this item again. I have a couple of issues with the device. I have to say it works, but ::: I wanted a re-chargeable secondary speedo as I am a driving instructor. The first problem is that everytime you switch it on it default to KPH so you have to alter it to MPH. But this is only a minor irritation. The real problem is the device only holds it charge for about 1 hour, which is no use to me. The re-charging cable is quite thick and therefore I cant leave it plugged in to use.

Suddenly stopped working. Now dead as a dodo.
I had a few months worth of use out it, and then for no apparent reason it suddenly stopped working altogether. The least I would expect at this price is reliability and a life expectancy of just months.

I am finding that it is great help to see the speed without looking down
Having been recently been fined for speeding, I am finding that it is great help to see the speed without looking down.at the speedo - as with all GPS devises there is a small delay in the numbers adjusting to actual speed changes, but at steady speeds it is almost certainly more accurate than the actual speedometer.

Valeo Heads up Display
I've owned 3 of these over the years and found them to be very robust reliable and good value for money. The only criticism is the holding bracket goes limp after a while so needs to be propped up to reflect off of the screen

GPS Speedo
This GPS speedo is accurate but the head up display is poor .I have tried various positions on the windscreen but the clarity and size of display is poor so i cannot recommend it .You cannot use it purely as a speedo that is forward facing as the readout is reversed for screen display.
