Christmas Time: It’s All About Jesus!

A Wonderful Children's Christmas Book
I just loved this children's Christmas storybook. The pictures were bright and colorful. The story is told in a rhyme. It sticks with the Biblical story. I loved that the author did not bring in the Wise Men, as they probably showed up anywhere for six months to two years later. Also, I loved that the characters where a little darker skin tone than white, as Jesus was Jewish. (Still not as dark as Middle Eastern, but at least they weren't white.) Also, there are a few family devotionals at the end of the book! I cannot think of anything that is wrong with this book. As a pastor, I highly recommend this book to teach and remind children the true meaning of Christmas.

A Must Have!!!
This book is AMAZING!!!!! I’m beyond happy I got this to add to our advent celebrations. I am teaching my 4 year old the true meaning of Christmas. He knows that Santa is pretend (like Daniel Tiger and all the other cartoon, talking animals). He knows that Christmas is Jesus’ birthday. This book has nice rhymes and tells the story of Christmas in a biblically sound, simple way.I LOVE the illustrations...colorful and vibrant. I love that they made them look Middle Eastern; rather than the erroneous, arrogance of those who make them blonde haired and blue eyed. I like that they also included children from various cultural backgrounds. I’m so glad I got this book. I REALLY like it...and so does my 4 year old.If you’re teaching your children the true meaning of Christmas, I highly recommend this book! You’ll be so glad you bought it!

Good points and then....
This is a good version of the Christmas story. Our church has never celebrated Christmas as Jesus' birthday, and for 30 or 40 years I thought it was important to make that distinction. However, I eventually decided that if Christmas makes some people think about Jesus, it is a good thing. Same goes for Easter. The illustrations in this story are really cute (I prefer softer, rounder figures than the ones used for superheroes and so many computer games.) I think young children will enjoy the pictures AND the story. One thing though: there is a page after the story that says the most important promise God made was Rom. I0:9. While it is a good verse, Paul didn't write it to stand on its own. This was part of a letter which he wrote to the church in Rome. However, before he wrote Rom. 10:9 he had already written Rom. 6:3-5. As we see in Rom. 6, Paul is writing to people who have been baptized (immersed) and added to the church. (In Acts 2 we learn that as we are baptized for the forgiveness of our sins God adds us to the church.)So Paul himself acknowledges that he is writing to Christians: to those who have been immersed and added to the church. However, it is important for Christians to CONTINUE to believe and confess Jesus as Lord of our lives. It is not something we do once and then get on with our lives. It is something that is a continual part of our lives on a daily basis. When we start doubting or when we no longer see Jesus as our Lord, we are slipping back Into the darkness. Those living in darkness are not walking in the light - not following God's will.Even Jesus said no one can enter the kingdom unless he is born of the water and the spirit. if anyone should know, it would be Him because there is salvation in no one else (Acts 4:12). Belief alone will not save us. The demons believe - and shudder! (Jas. 2:19) Demons are not saved!I would give 4 stars for the stars for the great illustrations and the story, but I had to deduct that fourth star because of the part about Rom. 6: it was not all there was to consider.

All about Jesus at Christmas.....
This is a helpful introduction to a child not raised in the church to explain Christmas and Jesus's birth. It features the baby and the birth and teaches that Jesus and God are the same. Not too complex for toddlers. Beautiful illustrations!

It’s a must read!
Jesus is the reason for the season. This book illustrates the true meaning behind it all, including the best holiday in the world, Christmas. My daughter loves the read. She can easily read along at 7 yrs old and truly understands now, to always remember that Christmas is all about Jesus. The book includes daily devotional a that can be used to lead up to Christmas Day. Key Bible verses are used to reference Christs’ importance during this holiday.

Pictures, Rhyming, Accuracy, FUN!
LOVED everything! The pictures were fantastic. The rhyming was VERY good. The accuracy was excellent considering the intended audience! My Dad started the tradition of reading "The REAL Christmas Story" from the Bible before we opened any gifts. This book has been perfect for keeping, even my youngest of, grandkiddles attention. VERY PLEASED! Thank you!
