Thin but enironmentally friendly
The main plus points of this package is that you get a lot of napkins for your money (9000 in total). Also they are recycled and non bleached which makes them environmentally friendly,Unfortunately, they are very thin and, being unbleached, a horrible beige colour. The ones you pick up at places like McDonalds or Subway are thicker and stronger than these. I have wiped my fingers on them and they just fall apart, especially if the fingers are a bit wet and you are only using one. They are probably OK to put in your lap but I would advise using two or three at a time for this purpose.I think if you own a restaurant/cafe etc, and you issued one each to diners, they will be very disappointed. If you put them in a dispenser, people are going to take a handful.

Wipe don't swipe...
I always feel a bit guilty grabbing napkins in coffee-shops and restaurants, seems like such a wasteful use of quality paper especially if it's printed or coloured and therefore probably not very eco-friendly. These Xpressnap napkins from Tork are maybe not completely guilt free but they're a lot better than most. Made from recycled fibres and with a natural unbleached colour (like pale corrugated cardboard) they're great for any eco-conscious eatery or coffee-house.They have just a subtle texture with no embossing along the edges and no printing - although you can pay a bit extra and get the same napkins with a recycled branding on them but that seems a bit counter-productive. They're just single-ply and quarter folded, meaning you open them out twice to their full size making them almost the same as an A4 sheet of paper. Fully opened they are very thin but still quite functional, although if you get them wet they do disintegrate quite quickly. For their intended purpose, as coffee shop napkins, they're fine and will cope with little spills or hand wiping well enough. To make best use of them you'll probably want one of Tork's dedicated dispensers, they aren't particularly cheap (though I love the Walnut plywood version ) but will prevent handfuls of your napkins walking out the door. You may smile but I used to work in an up-market café and this happened all the time with the most unlikely people being the biggest thieves. These eco-napkins would have suited our café perfectly and although they're admittedly quite basic napkins they've got a bit of utilitarian style about them too.

Reasonable quality budget napkins for self-service from an N4 dispenser
These environmentally-friendly napkins from Tork are perfect for a variety of catering purposes but are designed for self-service from N4 Interfold napkin system dispensers. We use them for a wide variety of purposes from including some in our lunch-boxes, for taking on picnics, at parties and at informal meal times, plus many other one-off occasions. Each napkin is a soft four-folded one-ply sheet which is just about strong enough for normal everyday use, but stronger if used folded, they are unbleached so have a natural beige tint rather than being pure white. These EU Ecolabel certified napkins are made from 100% recycled fibres and come supplied in a huge box of 9000 comprising of 8 individual packs of 1125 which is currently a little under ninety pounds from Amazon - making each single napkin around a penny apiece. Functional and serviceable these budget napkins do their job in a rather unexciting way but are very useful to have at hand to cope with the crumbs and spills of mealtimes and everyday life.

Decent Recycled Paper Napkins
The issue of paper napkins is becoming quite a big one with the interest in cutting waste and pollution in our ecosystem. These napkins are stamped as made from 100% recyclable paper which is better than many even if we are still creating waste by using them in the first place. What you do immediately notice about these napkins is their colour-light brown so at least we are looking at an unbleached paper here. The size is intended to meet the needs of a smaller cafe/catering outlet with 1125 napkins coming in a large cardboard box which in turn holds eight smaller boxes. On a practical level it is good to see that the napkins are wrapped in plastic for easy and dry storage in your cupboard. In use these do what you would expect a basic 1 ply to do-sufficient for using around the face after a meal and to wipe a small spill if doubled up. These napkins are not intended for heavier jobs than this and to be honest they didn't feel extra soft to me just what you would expect from a reasonable product. They are designed to be used in conjunction with an N4 Interfold Dispenser which is not supplied with this package, but is purchased separately.Cost will be the key for many outlets and you are looking at a unit price of just over 0.75 pence at current Amazon prices which is not cheap, but does offer your business a boost towards a decent environmental profile.

Great napkins
We have a Work napkin dispenser that we take caravanning with us. It is quite handy to have on the table while eating outside , especially if eating messy barbecue, as it;'s mess free to dispense and the napkins don't blow away. These are the napkins you fill it with and they are the same decent quality paper napkins you usually find in restaurants except they are unbleached. Not too heavy , absorbent, soft, convent, and made from recycled paper. Excellent value for money given the number of serviettes.
