Q: can this be folded into a ottoman?

Yes, however the backing for the sofa is not as long as the seat. So if you fold the backing of the sofa down you’ll still have about 6 inches of seat sticking out. I’d also recommend having the back of this sofa against a wall for adults planning to sit on it as a sofa.
