Nice internet radio - but kind of a pain to install under most kitchen cabinets
Overall, I am pretty happy with this internet radio. It exceeded my expectations in several ways. First, the sound quality is much better than I expected it to be, probably because most of the underside of the radio appears to be one very large speaker. The tone is good, about what you should expect at this price point. Now, you have to understand that a lot of internet radio stations "broadcast" highly compressed audio to keep their bandwidth costs down. If you are expecting audiophile quality out of a 96k stream, you are going to be disappointed. But that is not the radio's fault. For the intended purpose, to have some music on in the kitchen or to listen to the news or a podcast while doing the dishes, it works fine.Once you have everything programmed in, the interface on the radio itself is fairly straightforward, as are the controls. The little screen, though hardly hi-resolution, works well. And when it is off, the screen turns into a clock. They also give you a remote control in case you want to adjust it from across the room. Now for the negatives:Setting it up for the first time is going to take you a while. You have to go on this website with a kind of clunky interface and set up your channels for the internet radio, podcasts and so forth. Even though you are doing this in a website instead of on the radio itself, expect this to take you a lot longer than you think it should, and to be a bit annoying, just because the website/interface is very basic. Fortunately, you really only have to do this once, because once you set up your various presets, which you can basically group into virtual folders on the radio, you never really need to go back to this set up website again unless you want to add more or different internet presets. It appears that the radio is dependent on this free site to maintain all of your internet presets etc, which makes me worry about whether the internet part of the radio will eventually be bricked if that site ever goes away or changes. But for now it works well, and you can group your podcasts together with the internet radio stations, so if you want like your NPR stations together with your NPR podcasts, that is easy to do.The mounting bracket is very basic and simple. However, if you are mounting it to a kitchen cabinet, you will likely have issues because they don't include any way to easily mount to the most common cabinet design in the U.S., which is where the front of the cabinet overhangs the cabinet bottom about 3/4 of an inch. I ended up cutting a block of scrap wood the right size to bring the bottom of the cabinet flush with the front of the cabinet, attaching that to the bottom of the cabinet with screws and glue, then screwing the mounting plate for the radio into that. So if you are reasonably handy, you can figure out a way to get this mounted under your cabinet so it will look right. If you aren't handy, this is not going to be a fun thing to install yourself. They really should provide some spacers and redesign the mounting plate so it can be easily attached to the underside of a normal kitchen cabinet without having to do all this. It could probably be done with about 50 cents worth of parts.

Good Sound Nice Unit
Finally! An under-cabinet internet radio at an affordable price. The KR-200 has a small form factor, simple design, and relatively straight-forward controls. Setup for both internet radio and Spotify Connect was easy. Internet connectivity is strictly Wi-Fi, and the unit does not speak Bluetooth or USB. Auxiliary in and out sockets exist are available, though, and the manufacturer includes a m/m a cable to connect devices with a headphone jack. The build quality of our unit was quite good, although the control knob, panel buttons and included remote feel cheap. The mounting hardware is well engineered and easy to install.Sound quality is good, especially in mid and high ranges. Bass is lacking, although the fidelity of the unit is such that I don't really notice that (and besides-I don't want the glassware thumped off of shelves). Access to internet radio is provided via the Frontier-Silicon portal, and a somewhat archaic hierarchical menu. Frontier has been around for years, and is very comprehensive for news and music of all genres, although it isn't necessarily the best curated. Spotify Connect works flawlessly, which is exactly what I want. FM reception and sound quality are both good. All in all, I like this radio. It could have USB and Bluetooth and all kinds of additional bells and whistles, and as a consequence, it could have a much higher price. As a simple kitchen radio availing itself of modern technologies, it does a more-than adequate job. Thumbs up!

You MUST have Spotify Premium ($9.99/month) to use Spotify with this
Nice radio/internet radio. Was excited to be able to set up Spotify on this as well...But, I don't think it is at all clear from the information in the ad that you need to have the premium Spotify service in order to connect with this radio (meaning, you have to have the Spotify that costs a monthly fee - you can't connect this to the basic, free Spotify). A bit of a disappointment. Easy to set up. Connected easily with our wifi. I like that it has a remote control.

A very capable radio with great sound quality and many useful features.
We were not sure what to expect from this small under the counter radio, but after receiving it and using it for a short time, we are very impressed.I knew there were Internet radio stations out there, but did not know that a device was on the market that allows you to access the 20,000+ stations without needing to use a web browser or tablet. The additional ability to act as a Spotify Connect device is great for playing content from Spotify from a smart phone or tablet. The radio can even connect to my Universal Media Server and the media streaming service on my Windows 10 computer. Add the sturdy chassis and modern design and relatively easy learning curve to operate the radio from either the push buttons and multi-function dial or IR remote, and we have a pretty nice product here. This replaced a combination AM/FM radio and CD player that started to die after 8-9 years of service. This sounds great, awesome even by way of comparison. We just wish it was slightly larger and included a single CD audio player, but to be honest the other listening features and options are causing us to forget the missing CD functionality. We can always Rip our audio CD's to the Windows computer and they are available on the streaming service.Nice product! We love it.
