Super sharp and does the job. Started using it immediately it was delivered. Got plenty of kindling with it already. A great buy this was. Just be careful with your fingers as this stuff doesn't look forgiving, given how sharp it is.

This is a great tool for cutting kindeling it's got weight to it that helps the cutting motion its sharp and dose the job great. Just be careful when using it I lightly tap the blade into wood then bang it down on somthing solid keep your fingers out of its way for safety great tool for our offgrid use

Excellent knife, super sharp upon arriving. I used it to chop bone, cut meat before using it for kindling. It cuts meat like butter and making chopping wood much easier

Well made & exactly what I wanted, great to use

handle was a little loose but tapped the rivets together and sorted that out, the blade was beveled on both sides but only sharpened on one ,will regrind when it needs sharpening again. good weight and nice beech wood handle. all in all a very good kindling chopper, split softwood logs down very easily for sticks and should last for years. this is a very low price tool and with a little fettling will serve you well. 9/10

I ignored the poor reviews as they seemed to be petty complaints from "know it all perfectionists." It arrived on time, the handle was secured properly & the cutting face ground to a nice sharp edge. I used it straight from the package to split some kindling & then debarked my next few logs. It worked perfectly! You will need to keep it clean, sharp & oiled to stop it deteriorating but that's a given surely?
