I'm in a peculiar situation -- I conduct a concert band and our holiday concert includes a pickup chorus and our performance space has the band on the stage and the chorus on choral risers in front of the stage on the floor of the auditorium. When I conduct the combined musical works, in order to be seen by the band members on stage I climb up to the third step of a step stool. This forces the singers to raise their faces and makes them sing louder and has worked very well for many years with one little problem -- typical music stands only go up to a certain height which means that I have to bend way over to turn the pages of the scores I conduct from. This year I finally had had enough and came home and searched for a taller stand and came across this one, which is excellent! It goes tall enough for my purposes and will make next year's holiday concert much easier on my back. It breaks down into the shaft section, which collapses nicely small, and the desk, which is a solid metal desk with a good-size lip to keep the music on the stand, and nice page securers, which I will test out when our outdoor concerts begin later this Spring.When extended to its full height there is a bit of wobble to it with a heavy conductor's folder with lots of scores in it sitting on the desk, but not enough for it to fall over. And when used at the normal height for conducting or performing it is very very solid.The bag that's included is a joke so don't consider the bag as a factor in deciding to purchase this stand or not. Why they couldn't have made it one inch deeper, top-to-bottom, is a puzzle because there is no way that anybody at the factory or at the importing company could have ever gotten the stand to fit in that bag! And it's not a good enough bag to use for much else.But ignoring the horrible bag, the stand itself is worth every penny for musicians who need a taller-than-normal music stand.

We used to have a very weak one and we can tell the difference compared to this one. This stand is really sturdy and very nice looking it can also go pretty high. I can’t recommend this enough.

I tried 4 different music stands and this one stood out and was the BEST by far! It's VERY sturdy, goes nice & low (for sitting on a chair or couch) and also very high for standing - higher even than I need & I'm 5'5" tall. The phone holder is pretty cool. The light is cool too ... that was the ONLY thing that I had a problem with, only 1 of the 2 lights would turn on (maybe they just had a batch of faulty lights) because I purchased a 2nd stand & that one had the exact same light issue. That's the ONLY reason I'm giving a 4-STAR instead of 5-STAR ... because both of the lights aren't working. Other than that this stand is GREAT and I'm keeping it!

I'm 5'9" and a pet peeve of mine is when something is advertised as being my height or taller, and it is often... short my expectations. For example, I purchased some ring lights that were supposed to be taller than me by three inches - which they kiiiiind of are? if you have the feet so close together you lose stability and you have the lights at their full height and not angled to better illuminate the space desired. So disappointing, and I was honestly expecting this to be pretty much the same.BUT IT'S NOT!!! It's a full head taller than I am! The truth in advertising makes my heart sing. The stand is sturdy, it looks and feels like a quality stand - much higher quality than I was expecting for the price - and the bag it comes w is nice.The light, as another reviewer made note, is not /actually/ rechargeable as the box says, but the item description by the seller never claimed it was, so don't go by the box, go by the seller's description. That said, I do like the the light can be plugged into a charger, so if you don't have AAA batteries on hand, but you do have a backup USB charger for your phone, you can plug the light in that and be fine.

This has everything you could want or need in a music stand. I love the phone holder so I can see my lessons from instructor as I plan.The light is nice with 3 settings and this was very easy to assemble and light weight to move.

I didn't have to have any tools to assemble the stand, and it seems pretty sturdy. I'm loving the cell phone holder. Sometimes I'll have a book open and a tutorial or video to play along with going, and this makes it so much easier to see/switch between book and phone.

Like someone else mentioned, I'm 5' 9", and I like to practice my viola standing up. Most stands don't get tall enough to hold my posture correctly, resulting in neck and shoulder pain. This stand gets taller than I need, it's sturdy, and I love the lights! They have the option for a cold white LED or they can switch to a warm incandescent look, which is what I prefer. For the price, this was a total win.
