I have a smart lock, and I wanted another level of security when I am in my condo. Instead of an ugly latch or dated hook and chain, I saw this sleek security latch and was intrigued. We installed this when my little guy learned how to unlock the front door and walk outside on his own. This works well. We installed it high enough to where he can't reach it. Works great. It also works well as a lock. It doesn't leave a mark on the door and was easy to install

So easy to install. Easy-to-use and super strong construction. Every door should have one or two of these.

Although my area has very low crime I still wanted to beef up the security on a couple external doors. These seemed to meet my needs so I ordered the pair. The price was very reasonable. Installation was a breeze even with trim around my doors. If mounted correctly these locks fit snug to the door when they are closed. On a door with windows in it I mounted the lock about 16" below the deadbolt. This prevents anyone from reaching in the door and accessing the lock. This wouldn't be ideal for children though so you should consider this before installing in a door with windows. For the solid door I mounted it about 5' from the floor so it is comfortable for the adults to operate. Operation is simple and fast so it wont prevent a quick exit in case of a fire or other panic situation. This was a simple and effective solution for my needs and I wouldn't hesitate to purchase these again.

As my headline states, this door stop only took a few minutes to install and feels very solid. It doesn't hurt that it looks very sleek and modern as well. This make me feel much better than a chain lock as a backup mechanism. I was so happy with this that I gave my parents the other one that it came with in the 2 pack. They like it as well.

Great value. Easy way to add more protection to our home, kids have learned how to use it. But you can always install higher if you need to keep kids or elderly from going out the front door!
