Really well written with dynamic characters and surprise elements! Some parts were tricky to understand, but overall the books flowed nicely and gave a great, complete ending.

Listen. Around 30%, I hit a slump that felt boring and I put the book down for months. Now I’m DEVASTATED I DID THAT. SARAH J. MAAS CREATES MASTERPIECES. This was entirely and wholly beautiful! The right amount of high stakes, fantasy, and friendship building!

I heard bad things about book one being slow, no spice, etc. BUT, I enjoyed it. I love a strong female main character, and she didn’t let me down! The romance interest(s) were good, and i loved the spooky mystery aspect. Plus it left a lot of room for “what happens next” thoughts. Magic, demons, Nehemiah, & maybe some more romance!! So much I’m looking forward to in the next book!

I don’t think I’ve ever read a series that completely ensnared my heart. This story had me laughing, yelling out loud and crying all the time. It’s wonderfully written and a joy to read. I’m sad that it’s over

Started off a little different but then BOOM into the meat of it all. I can’t wait to start book two! There’s twists and turns and mystery and it just builds up until it all unravels.

Never have I cried so much from falling in love with every single character in a book. This is such a well written series of books. Worth reading over and over again.

A young woman is given the opportunity to win a championship set by the king. She’s been given an opportunity to leave a prison area to compete to be the King’s assassin. She must beat numerous other contestants. She has two men who support her. There are some magical elements at work some of which are in her favor but some are against her. I thought it was a good story without knowing how this contest would end. I’m curious what her future will look like.

Excelente calidad del paquete, uno de los libros venia ligeramente despegado de un costado paro nada que un poco de pegamento no pueda solucionar, la novela es genial, aun me faltan dos libro por terminar pero hasta ahora es una novela que recomiendo si les gusta el genero de novela fantástica

Glad my daughter put me onto books - have not been so immersed in a series since GoT (still unfinished!).Have also read ACTOR series but on reflection I think ToG is better for the sheer scale of story and numbers of varied and well developed characters, all of whom you want to know what happens to them. Some are more likable than others (the main character is very edgy & sassy ) but that's what keeps it interesting.The final book is an emotional rollercoaster but satisfying in its ending.Lots of similarities to Lord of the rings - just with a bit more romance!I did get a tiny bit irritated at every character being so beautiful / handsome and the over-use of some words ("roiled" instead of twisted or churned, "gawked" (yuk) instead of stared and everyone "stalked" everywhere) but I'm being super-picky about a book that has been addictive and I'm sorry to have finished as have thoroughly enjoyed having the characters part of my life for a couple of weeks (POV especially Manon, Lorcan & Elide)

Ich habe diese Reihe in original Sprache gelesen und war gefesselt von der Geschichte dieser jungen Frau und ihrem Weg in einer sagenhaften Welt.Zugegeben nicht jedes Kapitel überzeugte mich sprachlich und mit Handlung, vor allem wenn um kriegerische Details ging. Der gesamte Handlungsstrang der Geschichte hatte mich dennoch in ihrem Bann und machte es für mich einfach diese Kritik im Hintergrund zu lassen.Diese Reihe ist für jeden interessant und lesenswert, der gelesen hat wie der Ring den Schicksalsberg erreicht hat und Harry Voldemort besiegt hat, wie Tintenherz eine neue Welt ihr zu Hause nennt. Taucht ein in diese Geschichte!Ich habe die Reihe auf dem Kindle gelesen und gebe einen Hinweis erneut wider, der bereits in einer anderen Rezension enthalten ist.Die zeitliche Reihenfolge der Bücher oder Lesereihenfolge wird oft besprochen in der S.J.Maas Community. Dabei geht es konkret darum wann man „The Assassin‘s Blade“ liest.Zeitlich gesehen steht das Buch an erster Stelle.Ich persönlich habe es an zweiter Stelle gelesen nach „Throne of Glass“ und kann es jedem empfehlen genauso zu tun.In der Kindle Version ist „The Assassin‘s Blade“ leider ganz am Ende. (Seite 4616 o. Pos. 66128 in der englischen Version). Lest dieses Buch bitte weit vorher, denn diese Ergänzung zu Celeana/Aelins Geschichte sollte früher bekannt sein, als ganz am Ende.
