Music for Sight Singing (7th Edition)

The quality of the book is good-fair. The book is usable, the pages are all in tact and almost new looking except for a few dog ears. It delivered quickly, it came in time for my intended purposes. I ordered it on the 23rd and it came on the 24th. I am happy with it and I have no complaints considering the price and the delivery time.

This is a wonderful compilation of singable melodies from the folk and art music repertoires. Singing these melodies is far more appealing than just reading through purely made up solfege excercises. Each chapter contains melodies which are progressively harder and will help you, with practice and patience, to become a good sight reader, a skill any choral singer, composer, and musician in general should have.

A straightforward approach to learning sight singing and solfege. The book's approach is to instruct the student on the task of each chapter and then pound the student with exercises, which make up the bulk of the book.

Great bookIf you want to work on your sight singing skills this book will come in very handy.Alot of colleges use this book in their music theory courses at least the musicianship portion that is.This version is thicker than newer versions meaning you get more lines to practice from... downside being when an assignment is given you wont know which it really is but you can always check a neighbors and find it in this version that way.If youre not currently enrolled in a theory/musicianship course Id say buy this version because its cost will be (most likely) greatly reduced 👍Happy singing and practicing.

Delivery was timely. Used book was still in good condition with just a few pencil notes that can be easily erased. This is a great spiral-bound workbook to help practice sight reading outside of class. Wish print were larger though.

This is not what I was looking for. I was referred to this book as a good way to learn to read music. I think you need more knowledge than I have to be able to use this book. Therefore, I am not qualified to comment about the quality of this book.
