It shuts tightly, but does not have any type of rubber gasket. I don't have any problems with my watercolors in it. I have all of the slots filled with tube watercolors and rewet them when I paint. Great watercolor palette.

Q: The listing says two pack. Does that mean you get two?

I never noticed that it said two pack when I ordered the palette. Just one came in my package. But it does have a removable clear tray on one side so you could possibly use this as more space to mix colors.

Q: Where does this ship from?

I think it was from the manufacturer (Mijello?)

Q: Are the wells big enough to fit pans and still close the palette?

I think the middle mixing area could hold a 1/2 pans. I have both this palette and the Mijello 18 Wells and I prefer the 18 Wells because it has a rubber gasket preventing any kind of leakage.
