DOH-VINCI Featuring Disney Frozen Door Design Kit (Multi-Colour)

My daughter is (still) obsessed with Frozen and she loves arts and crafts, so this set had huge appeal for her. With this you can create a Disney Frozen door sign – which you can either hang on the door, or use as a room decoration. You get a door sign, 4 Deco Pop tubes (light blue, pink, purple and a sparkly white colour), a Styler, a string to hold up your design and lots of extras to design and add to the diamond shaped sign – a straight piece which (if you have a steady hand!) you can write your child’s name on, a picture of Elsa and Anna, plus four snowflakes.All you need to do is to pop the tubes into the styler and it works rather like icing a cake – you can use it to stick the pieces to the main door sign, or to decorate the pieces. I would suggest decorating the pieces separately, leaving them to dry and them sticking them on to the main door sign – but obviously, it is totally up to you. The colours chosen are nice and very appropriate – with colours to match both Elsa and Anna’s outfits, plus the sparkly white for a swirly, snow effect.One of the things I really liked about this set is that you can make something your child can keep. The pieces slot, or stick, together quite simply and it is fairly easy to use. It is suggested this is suitable for ages 6+ and I would think that is about right. Although not difficult, your child will need to be able to control the styler. Even at nine, my daughter needed some help to begin using this, so she was not just squirting out the colours, but controlling the styler so she could make patterns.I am not sure how long this will last either – it has hardened and looks nice now, but I suspect that it may crumble in time – especially the decorative bits. As the door sign itself is made out of card (albeit strong, thick card), if you leave it hanging from a door where it will be knocked, it might also end up getting a little bashed about. If you think your child will get upset if it is damaged, then perhaps suggest it will look better hanging on their wall; or hang it higher on their door, well away from the door handle. Overall, though, this is a nice art set which results in your child making something they can keep. My daughter and I enjoyed making it and she was very proud of her efforts.
