I searched around the internet including Amazon and found this 1/2” thick sheet (comes rolled up as delivered) with a very strong adhesive backing. I wanted a certain thickness so that I could add some sound absorbing material inside of the ear “pockets” of my motorcycle helmet. This foam was easy to cut using my industrial type scissors, and because it was 1/2” thick I was also able to use those same scissors to cut one edge at a bevel (angle).It helped that the adhesive backing was quite strong so that it stuck well to the hard foam inner shell of the helmet, enabling it to stay in place rather than move around.Nice quality dense foam that I’d recommend for your project👍!

I purchased this to add padding to my DOMKE camera bag’s front zip pocket. It’s does it’s job, I only wish the adhesive backing would stuck to canvas. Alas it doesn’t, but the adhesive does keep the padding from shifting when positioned, but it’s not secured to the canvas. That’s worth it alone.

Stay far away from this product! It doesn’t stick on anything! You can Clean the surface with alcohol,water, bleach no matter what detergent! This foam doesn’t stick! Unless you spray it with 3m 90 adhesive let it dry for a couple minutes and then try, that’s the only way thought!

I am about to take delivery of my 3rd military HMMWV. In the first one we installed LizardSkin sound and heat coatings to reduce the massive amount of noise that comes through the thin aluminum body. In the 2nd HMMWV we did nothing for insulation. In this 3rd HMMWV we are testing various sound-deadening options. This sound dampening mat will be installed in the HMMWV in a few weeks and I'll update this review.What I can say after inspection is that it is a lot thicker at 1/2" and appears to be a bit less dense than some of the competing products that are denser and thinner.It is a touch springier feeling. I like that it has adhesive already on one side so I can just stick it down on interior body panels.

These square patches are a little bigger than I expected and fit nicely in my car. They work best over a sound deadening roll. I found these squares were easy to apply and adhere quite well. Make sure you have them exactly where you want the first time because, if you rip them off and try to stick them back on, they will not work so good. These do a decent job keeping the sounds from echoing in my car, I can not say I noticed a huge difference temperature wise but, that is not why I got these. For musical and sound purposes, I would say they are a decent value.
