Good quality / fit that is easy to install, although the instructions are out of date. Instructions talk about a pin that needs to be installed to hold the strut sockets in the ball mounts. The current design uses spring clips that snap around the post ball mounts, and are already in place on the strut sockets. You need to look at the pictures in the instruction sheet to see which mounts face in which direction. The photos on the Amazon site are generic and don't match the RAV4 installation. The written instructions are sub-optimal, but take your time and it makes sense. You loosen 1 bolt for each of the 4 mounting points. Best to do them one at a time. Gas cylinder goes on the lower mount, push rod goes on the upper mount.

The install for a 2018 is a lot harder than the "instructions" make it seem.... Even the YouTube videos made it seem easy.After all that the struts fail to keep the hood in a usable open position

They work just fine on my 2024 Rav4 Hybrid LE. Another seller is selling them for $10 cheaper, however, so I think the price could be improved. There's a slight grinding noise on the last 3-4 inches of it opening, too, but it doesn't affect the function... yet.

Should have gotten these sooner.Follow directions, but remember, the clips SLIDE OFF, not pop off, once you realize that, it's easy to install.

Watched a few how-to videos, spent under 5 minutes per side to install. Was glad to see the improved design which did not require a manual removal and re-install of the ball-joint wire retainer (the new design is a snap-on for both ball joints). Be sure to tighten the screw-on ball heads (mine got loose during shipping), then align them to face the same direction.
