Arrived quickly, tea has a great flavour and the tin is v cute - who doesn’t like a cute tin for putting random things in?

Tastes good but smells really funny

I just love this tea. I am a big fan of pu-erh tea but couldn't find it to purchase anywhere in my area so had to order online.It was delivered promptly, packaged well, nothing was damaged.There is a fishy smell to it but I recommend to rinse it with freshly boiled water twice when making tea and the smell will disappear.Overall, happy with this tea, love the taste and the metal tin that it comes in.

One dimensional taste. Not much depth or earthyness but tastes pretty nice for a mass produced puerh. The fishy smell comes from either poor storage or ripening which also grows the wrong moulds. Despite that its not too present overall.

This is a great find! I love the quality of Steenbergs teas and this is no exception. It not only makes a delicate and flavoursome afternoon tea, it is great for making kombucha, especially if you have a Tibetan SCOBY. It makes a delicately flavoured fizzy kombucha, with less "tang" and tannins than regular kombucha.

The tea is in a cellophane bag which is inside the tin. This is totally fine but I noticed that the cellophane was pinch sealed and it was not airtight. The seal wasn't as tight on one side. Im not totally confident that the tea is 100% fresh which puts me off enjoying it. The other thing I didn't like was that before decanting the tea into the tin I naturally washed the tin. Unfortunately the labels on the tin are paper and they came partially came off... so now I have a sticky mess of half labels on my tin. The whole reason why I tried this brand was for the tin really. My usual organic, free trade pu'erh supplier doesn't do tins. Such a pity. Won't buy again.

I wouldn't go overboard on this tea, but it makes a decent cuppa when I need perking up a bit.

I've tried a number of quality teas recently and this is up there with the best. A very pleasing taste with little to no bitterness (I drink it black, with no sugar) and you can get a very good second brew out of the leaves. I'll be ordering another caddy as soon as this one runs out.
