Meteor, foreign aircraft, or worse?
A sci-fi meets action/thriller combo with a strangely 1950s feel – 3 StarsWhen a military radar picks-up an unknown object crashing in Paradox Valley, and a reconnaissance helicopter also goes down, Captain Corey Conaway is sent to investigate…With a fairly lengthy opening to set the scene, this does take a while to get going, but once we join Conaway (accompanied by locals, Dana and Butch) on their search, the pace and tension hots-up nicely. By the time they reach the mysterious object, this has the feel of an action/thriller, and what happens following their discovery takes the reader into the realms of classic sci-fi.Somewhat unusually for Hill, romance plays a very minor part in the story, and I think this might have worked better leaving the romantic element out altogether – it always felt a little forced. However, I did enjoy the middle section and the final chapter of the book. It was also kind of cute in that it constantly reminded me of the classic sci-fi books of the 50s and 60s; it succeeded in making me want to know what happens next, but made me laugh at the turn of events at the same time.Overall: Slow to get going, but a good story, and a there’s a twist right at the end to look forward to. A brave venture into varying the Lesfic genre at the time (Hill has done it much better since), but this one gets just an OK 3-Stars from me.

Not Typical Gerri Hill
Where do I start . After reading the synopsis this book intrigued me . It is well written, but boy is it spooky it had me sleeping with the lights on.Not sure if that was Ms Hills intentions but if it was it worked in my case. The characters are well rounded and left me wanting to know how they all get on not just the two main characters and their dog (Yep a dog is one of the main characters ingenious ) but all of them. Is there to be a sequel I certainly hope so but how Ms Hill will keep up the suspence created in this book we will have to see if there is a second. Word of warning Romance is secondary in this plot so don't buy it if you want steamy sexual intrigue .

Deserves 10 Stars!!
This book is brilliant. The author had me on the edge of my seat with anticipation, at times I wasn't sure if I should turn the page. It has adventure, mystery, suspense, friendship, and intrigue. The characters are excellent. The scenery exquisite. But the story is out of this world literally. I could not put it down. I'll definitely be reading this again. I really can't express how well written this is. Definitely open for a sequel (just a gentle hint!). Loved it, I want more. I'm off to look for more by Gerri Hill. Enjoy!!!

Filled with suspense. Lacking a physical romance compared to usual Gerri Hill offerings but perfect for the fans of a mystery to solve which is out of this world. The most obvious set up to sequel of any of her books.

Brilliant
This story was definitely a change for me as I usually don't like anything different to romance, but this was definitely worth a change . After reading the review's I decided to try I, it really was worth it and I couldn't put the book down, it's the fastest book I have ever read and I hope Gerri Hill has a sequel to this! Totally different but totally worth it!

Great read
What an enticing story line. Twists and turns from the very beginning keeping you on the edge of your seat. I found myself rooting for the characters along the way. Not usually a fan of si-fi but had to read this from my favourite author and she did not disappoint.

If you like sci-fi with real heroines this is the book for you!
Wow.....I like Gerri's books but this is on another level. Heroines, yes I said heroines, are real people, and the storyline is edge of the seat stuff. If you like Sci-fi and romance this is the book for you. Read it in one sitting from 10am til 1:30am, definitely couldn't put it down.

Thrilling
I really don't want to say too much for fear of giving too much away. Love story very much secondary to the intrigue but a first class page turner.
