The camera is a very good product which appears well made
I've only had this camera for a few days but thought I'd provide some feedback on my initial usage of the product.The camera is a very good product which appears well made.I was able to setup it up on Wi-Fi straight out the box with no issues by just following the very simple to understand instructions provided.It’s been placed almost at the furthest point of the routers range but is still able to pick up the signal and provide a very stable connection.The image quality is very good and switchable to a higher 1080p quality when needed.The Wansview Android app is really good as well. Again very easy to setup and use and since installing it I have had no issues at all. It provides the option to view multiple cameras so look forward to using that feature once I purchase a few more cameras.The camera has an SD card slot so can record directly onto that but would like to find out if it can record directly onto the cloud.It’s been on constantly since purchase and I have so far had no issue with it at all so from my initial use I would say that I would consider buying again.

Meh, not great but good value against other options
Update 11/10/16 - The software and app isn't the best and honestly needs a lot of user experience refinement - everything from wifi connectivity to SD card recording/playback is a pain to set up and isn''t intuitive which is a massive shame as it just becomes a streaming cam for me to check on my home as oppose to a device I can rely on to record. Bumped down to 2 stars after a couple of weeks as it simply shouldn't be this much effort and pain to set up this piece of kit - I am sure other items on the market work better, its a shame. If I could be bothered with the postage and packaging I would send it back and spend more and get something more reputable.Good piece of kit, not great but fit for purpose. I have only given this 4 stars as the software does have a grammar error or two on the error messages and doesn't give it a completely professional feel. I do love how you can move the camera around remotely and I am yet to experience any issues but it didn't connect over WiFi straight away and took a fair bit of tweaking. I am an IT Professional so knew how to do this but it should 'just work', maybe I just had a bit of bad luck with it but I think for more money a well known brand may have been a better option in hindsight but still worth getting if you want a quick and reasonably priced option.

Excellent Camera!
I initially quite liked this camera, in spite of its somewhat bulky nature, explained of course by its swivel and tilt capabilities.I also liked the fact that one could set it to record to a Synology NAS drive.This is the second camera I'm writing a review for, as the first one must have been faulty (returned for a full refund), as it kept freezing after about a 24 hour cycle of operation. I've not had any such problems with the second camera, provided free of charge by the vendor, and have been using it for over a month now.In addition to the ability to record to a Synology NAS drive, I also very much like the remote view the premises functionality, including the tilt swivel to observe a wider area, all from the provided application (iPhone).There isn't much more one could require from a camera such as this!One other thing. When I purchased the first camera it cost just short of £100. The price has since dropped to under £65! Well worth the money

Initially seemed very good but is full of bugs. It's been six days now since I last emailed customer support with no reply.The recording on alarm has stopped working & the reformatting of the SD card has messed up. Without this, it's pretty useless.Update: The recording function on this camera just doesn't work. It doesn't do what it's supposed to do in the settings (i.e. take snapshots under alarm conditions) & keeps corrupting the SD Card. AVOID!!

Good but could be better.
Been using it for a month or so now and these are my thoughts.Pretty easy to setup and the app on the mobile is ok.And for an indoor camera it does allow you to monitor a room. The audio is also a pretty handy function to interact with the room too.The alarm function takes a little tweaking but I have been able to set it up to send alarm recordings to an FTP server which runs on my router.Night vision works fine, but of course not though glass (this is common to all IR Led though glass though).Now for the improvements that I think are required.1. Seems impossible to access the camera from a Mac using either Safari or Chrome and look through the recordings.. The tab seems to disappear when the pages loads. Sounds like a bug in the web app on the device. And when viewing the camera using the web browser seems to cause all number of problems with the browser hanging or processes maxing out at 100%. I have also tried a OSX client but that also seems to be very buggy.2. I have varying degrees of success with the mobile app. sometimes I can view it no problem other times it just hangs.. I am pretty sure its not down to my router which is my own one, not a cheap ISP one.3. You cannot get recordings off the device unless you take the SD card out of the camera and put it into your computer.. Ideally you would like to be able to "download" a clip or alarm recording. Does not seem possible to do this. You can setup the alarm to copy it to a File Share or FTP location. But if you find a clip on the camera you want to save it doesn't seem possible to either download it or mark it for 'keeping'.4. Note this uses their own DDNS (this is what allows you to connect to the app outside your home wifi) provider based in China.. I am going to setup my own through NoIp or similar.. as don't feel comfortable with a DDNS service that I don't have control of. But good they give you the bitty to configure this.5. I tried the email configuration with gmail but it won't work due to Google's security settings which I don't want to relax on my email.. I could setup "another" email account and relax the settings on that account. But a shame you just can't use your main one.In short if you just want to monitor something every now and again it will be fine..It will work fine as a Pet/Baby monitor.Personally its not stable enough or easy to get recording from the device if you want to rely on it for security purposes.
