Maine Map (National Geographic Guide Map)

Great quality
This map is made of something other than regular paper. Good news, won't tear easily. Bad news, hard to write on because it's slick. I like highlighting roads too travel. Can't do that on this paper. Much more good than bad. Also good, is it has indicators of mileage from one point to another. No having to try to calculate from legend.

It does exactly what you expect it to
I am giving this product a rare 5 star rating. Why? Because it does exactly what you expect it to. That's rare in this day and age of commerce. I've been studying it a lot planning my adventure in Maine.

Typical Map
VERY small print. For those who are like me and need readers for average print this map is very difficult to read.

The map was a HUGE help to us as we navigated the beautiful Maine coast
In this digital age, when we rely on Google Maps, whether on our phones or on our tablets, to get us from point A to point B, one might argue the usefulness of an old-fashioned fold-up map. We reside in Oregon, and a few weeks ago we took our first-ever trip to Maine. In preparation, we bought this map of Maine, which is published by the National Geographic Society, and we took the map along with us. Sometimes you just need the big picture, all in front of you, all at once. The map was a HUGE help to us as we navigated the beautiful Maine coast, then the central part of the state. It's also waterproof, which was a bonus, as it got rained on once! Highly recommend!

Not quite what I expected
I have always depended on National Geographic hiking maps and just anticipated that the size of this map of Maine would be similar. I should have looked more closely to the size listed, especially after seeing one comment that discussed the size. In fact, they are right. It is a smaller than a usual road map and it is very hard to read. It will be useful but a map from an interstate highway visitor's center would probably be better.

Great map to have, highly recommend!
Exactly what I want in a map, waterproof and tear-resistant, great to keep in your backpack or in your car. Used for traveling in the state, shows majority of the roads I need to plan routes when there's no cell phone reception. Very useful in the northern points.

Over Priced
Was expecting more info on potential road trips, but it gives a para-graph on the biggest attractions, and a vague description on a 570mile cost road trip with very little detail. Definitely not worth the £8.99 I paid. This is the type of map that is normally given away for free at tourist information center's, £1.99 would be too expensive.Cant recommend that anyone purchases it, very disappointed that "National Geographic" have their name on it.
